We’re featuring beef, pork, and chicken, and we’re looking for teams ready to compete for bragging rights and the coveted People’s Choice Award! 🏆

This year’s event will feature a patriotic flair as we celebrate faith, freedom, and community—so fire up those smokers and bring your best BBQ! 🇺🇸
We’re looking for teams to compete in our bbq competition, including brisket, pork, and chicken, along with People’s Choice awards. Entry is just $50 per team, we provide the meat. Tasting kits will be offered free to the public as part of our outreach to the community.
This event honors the legacy of Paul Schatte while supporting our youth and scholarship fund—and it’s always a great day of food, fellowship, and friendly competition.

🔥It's almost time for tasting to begin, and this year we've added a little extra flavor to our Peoples Choice category! Get out to First Lutheran for your FREE tasting kit, serving to begin at 11:30! We will serve until 1:00 or until the food is gone!
👑If you find a team you REALLY love and think they should be crowned Peoples Choice - to claim the title of Ponca City's BBQ royalty - you can add a little extra sauce to their buckets! Peoples Choice voting is open until 12:45.
↘️Drop a little extra cash in their bucket or send via PayPal or Venmo to pour on a little extra love.
*Be sure to leave the team name in your notes*

Come out to the First Lutheran Church parking lot at 11:30 for your FREE tasting kit!

How it works:
Go to the tasting kit tent to pick up your tasting kit and your peoples choice ticket
Sample a little (or a lot) from each team
Select your favorite - tickets can be placed in the team buckets by the DJ Trailer

That's it! Show up, eat, vote!
Donations are accepted at the tasting kit booth. All funds benefit the First Lutheran Youth group and their travel to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer, as well as the Schatte Memorial Scholarship fund.
