Hello all, we're getting ready for the Kickin' Summer Bash happening on June 19 & 20. Friday night will be the place to be if you like vintage or new cars, trucks, & motorcycles. DJ Rockin' Reggie will be sharing the best era of music. Reggie is going through some health issues, so please tuck him up in your prayers. Tom Susman, our local radio stations, 93.1 FM, 106.9 FM and 1360 AM, will be doing a live remote.
Brent Patterson has a wonderful evening of entertainment planned from 6 pm to midnight. Friday and Saturday evenings.
Saturday is Kids' day! From noon to 8 pm, we have something for every age. We’ve added a kiddies’ tractor pull, a little Ms. and Mr. Contest…..one for 1 & 2 year olds and one for 3 & 4 year olds. The person who is doing this goes all over the region. The winners will get a crown /tiara, sash and cash prizes in both age groups. The others will get participation ribbons and a treat from Wendy’s or McDonald's.
The bounce houses are going to be great. We have two pools that have little canoes for the kids to float around in. Two? Why you say? True reason…it was so hot last year, the parents and grandparents sat in the pool (you have to envision that). We’re just going to have one to cool off in or, if there are little toddlers, they can splash with the adults. 😊 We’ll have our treasure hunt in the sand for coins to turn into real coins and the chalk drawing contest with winners from 3 or 4 age categories with cash prizes. This year, we have a little monkey that will take a quarter out of the kids’ hand, tip his hat, then put the quarter in his pocket. We’ll have the quarters so nobody will have to pay. This event is a totally free event.
Wolfe Mountain is bringing four characters down to Court Street to do a Scavenger Hunt with the kids, the kids can get pictures taken with them. We have a wet slide, bounce houses, chalk drawing contest, dance contests, face painting by our Michele Musser. She was fantastic last year.
Can you read my excitement? I’m so excited, it’s our 15th anniversary. Fifteen years…..where does time go? Thank you, John Musser, for encouraging me to start the festival and give back to our community. Our sponsors are wonderful! And, as soon as I get the confirmation from them, I will post a list of our supporters.
Please share...there's a lot of entertainment both evenings thanks to Brent and our sponsors. Now, we just pray for a great weather weekend.
