A year in the life of Westridge Lights

The 2017 display consists of somewhere between 54,000 and 72,000 LED lights(lost count at 54,000, but had just opened some tubs with another 18,000. The display is spread acroos 2 yards, i have some great neighbors. There is a 20 foot RGB pixel mega-tree, 22 6-foot white trees that appear to glow, 4 6-foot firesticks, 4 leaping arches and 2 6-foot swirling spiral trees. There is a 16-foot Santa, a lip-syncing Santa, a 10 foot bear overseeing his 5-foot cub, a nativity scene with angels trumpeting. a Bradford pear tree lit like a merry-go-round, both houses are adorned with dripping icicles and have fan patterns on the roof. The 2017 additions are lights in the Crepe myrtles and arches along the sidewalk. All this is synchronized to music and broadcast to your car stereo at 92.9 FM. There are 10 songs this year, 4 are new to the show.

Blueprints were made and lights were bought in January 2017 , and then a quick break from all-things-Christmas was taken. By July, it was time to start programming music. October 1, feature building had started and by November 1, the features were making there way to the front yard. Over 400 hours were put into this years display and I was still working on it while my family was eating Thanksgiving dinner inside. At 6 PM Thanksgiving evening, the show went Live, without a hitch.
