Founded in 1968, the Plano Music Teacher Association (PMTA) was recently voted Best in Texas at the 2026 Texas Music Teachers Association in Houston! 🎉🎶

Steinway Piano Gallery Plano is proud to support PMTA throughout the year by hosting association meetings, student performances, teacher pedagogy seminars, masterclasses, and private studio recitals.

Under the leadership of PMTA President Vera Balaban, PMTA kicked off the 2026–27 school year on Friday, September 4, with an inspiring morning of music, learning, and excellence.

A special thank you to guest speaker and pianist Fredrica Prior Phillips for her fascinating presentation, “Franz Liszt: Variations on a Theme by Bach, ‘Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen’: A Musical Legacy from Bach, Beethoven and Liszt into the 21st Century.”

Wishing all of the talented PMTA teachers and students a wonderful and successful 2026–27 school year! May it be filled with beautiful music, continued growth, and countless opportunities to inspire the next generation of musicians. 🎹✨
