A note for our Second Sunday community: this month’s Contact Improvisation Jam is taking a pause, and there will be no jam this Sunday, October 11.

We’ll gather again on Sunday, November 8, back in our usual second-Sunday rhythm.

Meet the facilitators of Grief: The Sacred Gateway — Chaya Leia Aronson, Kaitlyn Cronin, and Marie Echo.

Over three days, they’ll hold space for grief as a threshold, through ritual, embodiment, art, song, and time on the land. Each brings a different doorway: Chaya through the wisdom of the body, Kaitlyn through ecology and the cycles of death and regeneration, and Marie through movement, voice, and artistic devotion.

November 13–15 at Earthdance in western Massachusetts.

Meet the facilitators of Grief: The Sacred Gateway — Chaya Leia Aronson, Kaitlyn Cronin, and Marie Echo.

Over three days, they'll hold space for grief as a threshold, through ritual, embodiment, art, song, and time on the land. Daniel Hayes has lived many lives — medical doctor, epidemiologist, anarchist collective member, eco-village founder, peace builder — and Contact Improvisation runs through all of them.

Born in Baltimore and raised in the Netherlands, Daniel trained as a physician at the University of Amsterdam and completed his PhD in Tropical Medicine and Epidemiology in the UK, with extended periods living and working in Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi. He then spent a decade in Can Masdeu, an anarchist collective on the outskirts of Barcelona, where he and his partner Lina founded the Vidalia eco-village.

CI entered his life in 2000 and changed its direction. In 2010 he founded the Touch & Play Movement in Berlin — an ongoing exploration of what he calls the Relational Body, with events now taking place across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Daniel is also the current Executive Director of Earthdance, bringing to the role a rare combination of scientific rigor, community organizing, and a deep commitment to what happens when people move together with intention.

This summer, The Berkshire Project came to Earthdance for the first time, bringing together disabled and neurodivergent adults, volunteers, friends, artists, and caregivers for an experience rooted in relationship, creativity, and belonging.

We spoke with founder Lauren Marietti about the need for spaces like this, what she has learned about friendship and inclusion, and the small moments that become possible when people are given room to be fully themselves.

🔥 Introduction to Rage Club — tomorrow, Saturday Sep 19, 3–5:30pm

Most of us learned that anger isn’t safe to feel — that it’s aggressive, dangerous, something to suppress. But conscious anger is a source of clarity and aliveness, not something to fear or unleash without care.

In this workshop with Hannah Hirsh and Maura Quinn, you’ll explore how anger shows up in the body, what it has to teach you, and how to meet it with presence instead of judgment. Reclaim your ability to set boundaries, say yes, say no, and bring your anger with love.

Doors close at 3:05pm sharp. Potluck to follow — bring a dish to share :)

Fall Jam 2026 is gathering around the theme of Future Generations.

As Earthdance celebrates 40 years of Creative Living, this jam invites us to remember the lineage we come from while making space for what Earthdance might become.

4 Full Jam discounted tickets for people experiencing financial need, with priority given to people from marginalized communities.

BIPOC Tickets
2 free + 8 at cost Full Jam tickets for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. First come, first served and self selected.

30 + Under
25% off tickets for participants age 30 and younger.

Teen Tickets
$175 tickets for dancers ages 13 to 17.
