How it all began

Most good ideas start with a couple of like minded souls having a drink. This story starts out just like that! The night Russ and Tim met I am sure neither anticipated what would become of that meeting. But the introduction kind of went like this after they had both ordered their drinks...

Tim: Hi, my name is Tim, I hear you like to throw big parties!

Russ: Hi, I’m Russ, and yeah, I love throwing a big party!

Tim: Cool, you should come see my property, it would be great for something big.

Russ: Cool! I will.

The rest, as they say, is history...well, history in the making. Tim’s property turns out to be a beautiful ranch and vineyard in the heart of Gold Country.

“The very first time I set foot on the property I envisioned a concert, specifically, a country music festival. It is just built for that.” Russ would say.

With that first visit, the two men agreed to dream big and make something magical happen in these vineyards.

The Gold Hill Country Music Festival is not being produced by a big time promoter, radio station or out of the area event company. Everyone involved with the planning and ex*****on of this event is putting their own sweat equity, unique skills and money into this event, because as Tim says: “We want to do something special for our community that is fun, new and exciting!”

El Dorado County is a very special place with so much to offer visitors. From Lake Tahoe’s hiking, skiing, fishing and relaxing to the thrilling rafters of the American River, to the intrepid Rock Crawlers of the Rubicon Trail, to the amazing El Dorado Wineries, to the tasty El Dorado Beer Trail to the famous history of the Gold Rush, there is always something to do and see.

The Gold Hill Country Music Festival invites you to come spend some time in the rejuvenating Sierra Foothills, along side a beautiful lake surrounded by picturesque vineyards while discovering some new country music. Sip on some local wines, drink some local beers and feast on some local flavors while taking in the sights and sounds of the event!
