💕Need/Want to ditch your kids tomorrow?!?!💕

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and regardless of how you choose to celebrate it, know that someone is willing to give you a break from your children! 🙃

We have been hosting the
🎶🩷🤍❤️ HAVE A HEART HOP ❤️🤍🩷🎶
for the past 11 years, and we are doing it again tomorrow night from 6PM to 9PM.

We watch your offspring and feed them dinner! Dance under the disco ball! Play games! Enjoy the craft table and the selfie booth! I mean, doesn't that sound like a super good time?! Duh. 😃

The best part: your child stays locked in safe and sound until the doors open back up and the designated adult signs them out.

So if you have a hot date with Mr. or Mrs. Right, or you want to pamper yourself with a solo trip to Target, or you want to snooze on the couch in your sweats you have now had on for the last 5 days straight (or maybe you want to finally remove those and shower without little people walking in to take a p*e) and just want some peace and quiet, I got you. 😉

Registration closes at midnight tonight so we can prepare for our final head count tomorrow.

P.S. Valentine's Day is my oldest daughter's most favorite holiday. It has been since she was little. I never cared about it until she came along. If you ask her why, still to this day her response is: "Because who doesn't want to show love to themselves and the people we care about. We shouldn't need a special day to do it, but how great to have a day where you are extra nice and loving.".. yes, lessons we could and should learn from the young. ❤️🩷❤️🩷❤️🩷❤️🩷

We just realized this morning that there is one, and only one, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed building in Pittsburgh. It’s the Richard King Mellon Hall of Science on the campus at Duquesne University. This came to light as we researched the history of a particular building element we are repurposing within The Circle PGH building. We’re not quite ready to do a full reveal yet on how we’ve used the element to enhance our space, but we’re thrilled to have another story to add to the lore of this building! Special thanks to Construction Junction for keeping history alive!

DO YOU NEED A MOMENT ALONE WITHOUT YOUR KIDS BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS?!?!?

We are here for you! 🤗
We are teaming up with the for an evening of kiddos fun!

Your kids can join us next Friday, December 19th from 6PM to 8:30PM in the ballroom right here at The Circle PGH for an evening of crafts, games, and food!

❓️HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simply complete the form found in the link below, and you are in! ✅️

🔹️When you arrive the evening of the Lock-In, you will sign your kiddo in at the front desk, and into the ballroom they will go.
🔹️Once all students have arrived, the exterior doors to the facility will lock, and festivities will begin, keeping your child safe, happy, and occupied till you arrive for pick up!
🔹️When the event is over, all children will remain in the ballroom until their designated guardian comes to sign them out to go home. Unless we see you, your child does not leave.

🎉All staff has their clearances and works with youth classes weekly. We are ready for a fun, safe evening while you get the alone time you deserve during this busy season. 🥰

Students must be between the ages of 5 and 12 to participate in this event.

Of all the life events I could have had on my bingo card for 2025, as I entered my seventh decade, owning a new theater / performing arts space with my partner Jessica Palitti was not high on the list. But here we are. We “soft opened” the building this past week with the Northside Gallery Players, Jr. production of 42nd Street and it was a smashing success! I’ll let Jessica post more on that.

We closed on the building on June 12th and let our contractor know we needed to be in the space by early September. We challenged ourselves as well to be as much a part of the renovation process as our skills and determination allowed.

If you want to test the strength of a relationship, renovate a building together. Within an unreasonable timeline. We passed. Were there tears? Oh yeah. Were there hard feelings? Oh yeah. Were there disagreements on process and details. Oh yeah. But these too passed and look at us now.

As hard as this was, I don’t think I’ve ever been so physically and mentally tested as I have been over the last three months, it was so worth it. The opening production showed off the hard work of Jessica, Maria Sassani, and all the kids who took this show into their hearts. And humbly, we think the space looks gorgeous. I couldn’t help but feel that the building was…happy, once again, these past few days. It teemed with life, energy, creativity and beauty and we couldn’t be happier getting a glimpse of the future of this space.

Our hope is that for many years to come this building and the activities within will be a blessing to all who enter and find a home within our Circle.

💡Lighting has arrived!
And by that, I mean a TON of lighting.🔦🔦🔦🔦

To be honest, lighting has been arriving for several weeks, and they have also been sent back. We have been testing it all, and slowly but surely we are getting closer to narrowing it down.

Afterall, this is 💚YOUR💚event space. You have to dance and act and sing under these lights. You have to have your next baby shower, sweet 16, 50th anniversary party, or wedding celebration here. And when you do, the lighting *must* hit you just right. We want that for you. Every little detail matters. 🩷
