Starting off the individual meet the team posts with our spreadsheet queen, Abby! I wanted to start with her because a lot of what she does is behind the scenes. You might not have seen her beautiful face floating around, but she is a multi talented queen that deserves so much recognition. Without her, I would have no comprehension of the numbers behind this business. She handles and keeps track of the budget, profit and loss, and KPI’s, and then reviews, adjusts and updates those things with me on a monthly basis. In addition to that we have a joke that anything that needs fixing or building or sewn or hung on a wall has to go to “Abby’s Workshop” because my patience for projects like that tends to be non-existent. Lastly, she also helps with most set ups, canva projects and space flips. If you see her around, make sure to say hello!

We can’t completely shut down today because the business is centered around scheduling things according to when potential or current clients are in town and available, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t support the cause. What’s happening in the world right now is atrocious. It’s sad and unjust and we need to stand up for what’s right and enforce change.. I don’t post things like this often and as my friend said, it’s not because I’m not paying attention or that I don’t care or that I’m worried about backlash. It’s just that I don’t have the mental energy for it. It’s exhausting to open up social media every day and see a new tragedy that has occurred. But I thought it was important to post today just to remind people where we stand. So today (and everyday) support and fight for change in any way you can. Even if it’s just using your voice.

Hey friends! I normally don’t do this on this account but I’ve been hearing from multiple people that it’s something that makes us unique and special to the Pittsburgh Wedding Venue scene, so I’m gonna take a moment to highlight it.

1. We are a small business. We might have this big gorgeous space, but we aren’t run by a corporation or another large company. Just a small business that once upon a time started on Craigslist haha. These kids are a big part of why I do what I do and you will see me or talk to me at some point through the wedding planning process. I’m very front facing in the business and while I look put together here, I’ve been down on my hands and knees scrubbing the dance floor, moving tables all around the space during set up and tear down and I’ve been inside the dumpster on one too many occasions lol. My point is, booking with us, is supporting me, my children, my team and their families and small business growth.
2. We are the only wedding planner owned and run venue in Pittsburgh. There are other venues that have excellent knowledge of the industry and have wonderful people that will work hard to make sure your day runs seamlessly, but we are the only one that comes with 15 years back knowledge and experience of being wedding planners and seeing this industry from every different viewpoint. While you’re planning your wedding, that is invaluable.
3. We are one of the only (if not THE only) q***r, woman run wedding & event venue in Pittsburgh. We are not just a supportive, inclusive place to get married, this is where we come from. It’s who we are.

So from the bottom of my heart, to everyone that has booked us for a wedding or event and to everyone that we will work with in the future, THANK YOU ♥️
