It takes so many volunteers to help make our Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce’s 🎉Water Tower Festival a success each year. Here are some invaluable volunteers that parade observers might not see — our 😃 2025 Parade Crew Volunteers: Rick Whipple, Dan Serie, Scott L. Blom, Todd Fraser, Nancy Veldhuizen Hinricher, Ritchie Whipple, Oliver Whipple, Isabella Whipple, and Tom Steffes!

This 👏AMAZING crew helps people locate their parade lineup locations; puts out all the signs necessary for lineup & takes them down; directs traffic; keeps the parade going at a nice even pace without gaps; and most importantly, helps ensure everyone remains safe. They are the ✨BEST!

Additionally, Rick Whipple works with our Chamber Administrative Manager Tom Steffes to create the parade lineup and assign locations for every entry. Tom handles all of the 📝 registrations each year and handles all of the questions prior to the festival.

We truly can’t 🥰thank each and every one of them enough! And, we encourage everyone who enjoys the 🎉Water Tower Festival Parade to thank them in the comments, and more importantly, thank them in person as you see them around town! It is a very difficult job and they miss the pageantry of the parade and sitting with their families and friends as the parade flows through our beautiful Historic Downtown Pipestone Minnesota.

We want to also 🥰thank Nancy Hinricher for her time this year. She not only helped with the parade, but then immediately traveled down to Iowa for her HUGE family reunion the same day! Busy woman! As such, we missed getting a photo of her before she took off for her next special event.

Additionally, here’s a HUGE 📣❤️Special Shoutout to ⭐️ DAN SERIE ⭐️ who has been helping with the Water Tower Festival Parade for all 36 years!!! That’s incredible dedication and it’s greatly appreciated — not only by our Chamber — but by EVERYONE who has enjoyed our parades over the last 36 years!!!

Plus, thank you to Chuck Vaux (owner of M & H Communications) for loaning our Parade Crew 📻 two-way radios to communicate during the parade! And thanks to Dahl Motors - Pipestone, Steve Moffitt, and Jesse DeGroot for loaning us ⛳️ golf cars for the Parade Crew to use!

‼️REMINDERS & EXTRA HINTS: The Medallion is NOT at the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce. It is also NOT in the area between the Museum and the Moore Block Building (which is the building with the gargoyles where Prairie Maiden Treasures is located). It is NOT at Keepers Depot (because that is NOT public land). It is NOT at Pipestone National Monument (because that is federal land & sacred).
