This past weekend, we focused on the construction of a storage room wall in the loft that will house all of our necessary things for now and potentially be additional guest space later. Still trusting the process.

Today, the WhiteOak had the pleasure of hosting a beautifully presented gathering by Sisters of Faith. The theme, “Abide & Unwind,” was woven throughout the morning and proved to be a blessing to so many women.

The room was filled with meaningful conversation, encouragement, laughter, and new connections. It was wonderful to watch women from different walks of life come together, share fellowship, and simply enjoy being present with one another.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to the Sisters of Faith team for creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are grateful the WhiteOak could be a small part of a morning that left so many feeling refreshed, encouraged, and connected.

HA! We gave ChatGPT a workout, and it created a beautiful storyboard of our life. It’s a reminder of how easy it is to make life look picture-perfect on social media. While this rendition truly captures the love, family, laughter, and blessings we cherish, it doesn’t show the hard work behind it all — the tears, exhaustion, struggles, disappointments, and difficult seasons that every family walks through.

Life is hard. Every single day begins with choices to make the moment we open our eyes. Social media often highlights the happiest moments, but behind every smiling picture is a story filled with perseverance, growth, sacrifice, and grace.

If you’re struggling right now, know this: you are not alone. Even in the hardest seasons, there are still gifts, moments, and blessings worth focusing on. Sometimes the smallest moments become the ones that carry us through.

Who’s been to the famous Pine City flea market? 🤍

I came across this old roadside sign there today that simply reads
“Begin One Way.”

Originally, it was made to direct traffic — to remind travelers the road ahead only moved in one direction. But the moment I saw it, I felt like it needed to come home with me.

Life pulls us in a thousand directions — responsibilities, worries, plans, distractions, noise. Every day we wake up carrying something. And for me, the one thing that continually brings my heart back to center is prayer.

Before the work.
Before the decisions.
Before the stress.
Prayer sets the direction.

That’s why this weathered old sign spoke so deeply to me. The way we begin often shapes the path ahead.

From the beginning at the WhiteOak the hope has always been to create a space that gently points people back toward what matters most — peace, faith, community, rest, and reflection.

And honestly, it’s been so humbling and beautiful to watch how God continues to use this place in ways we never could have planned ourselves.

So when you visit WhiteOak, keep an eye out for this tattered sign. You’ll likely find it hanging beneath the verse, Proverbs 3:5–6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

And while there may not be much about this old barn that’s perfectly straight… I’m thankful we can trust the Lord to guide the way. 🤍
