Bring back Fleury he wanted a multi year deal and ge got 2 to stay!

Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a two-year, $7 million contract ($3.5 million average annual value) through the 2023-24 season.

Well we kinda knew this was coming but it still sucks to see. His 2nd Tommy John surgery in only a couple years.. Hopefully he's able to make a full recovery and come back into the lineup early next year.
Before going down with the injury Paddack looked like his old self posting a 4.03 ERA in just 22.1 innings with 20 strikeouts. At the pace he was on he would've ended the season with over 100 SO's.

So good news Correa is back bad news and maybe worse we sent Royce Lewis back down to Triple A..
Listen I get it we need Correa to be out there at SS it's what we paid him for. But there's easily someone on that MLB roster who could've been sent down instead. Maybe Jose Miranda for instance who's bating .096... Lewis is batting .308 with two home runs, one a grand slam, four doubles and five RBI's. If anything keep Lewis send Miranda down and have Lewis bat at DH.

It's not over yet but I know 99% of Minnesotan's feel like it is... Yes I'm talking about the wild absolutely falling apart last night against the Blues at home no less.
Again similar to game 4 everything was pretty even shots on goal, face offs hit and blocks. We even buried 2 yes 2 power play goals! We were 100% on our power play last night and still found a way to lose... Kaprizov nearly won the game himself, you could tell he was irritated with losing especially after having the best regular season. Dean Evason our HC was pi**ed as well as the entire team should be.
Now we were tied at 2 going into the 3rd and we all know whether we're trailing tied or leading the 3rd period is not our strong suit unless we're up by 30. But when you allow 2 goals in the first 2:30 of the 3rd period it's gonna be tough to come back and well we didn't. Now I hate the Blues like every fan does the only other team I may hate more are the Avalanche but even still I think I lean more hatred on the Blues. But gotta give credit to Tarasenko because wow his two goals were things of beauty. Even though we lost and are now down 3-2 in the series it's not over. We go back to St. Louis tomorrow for a win or go home situation and I believe this team is gonna come out swinging, quite literally. Then if we win we'll be back home Saturday for game 7. I don't believe in curses or anything of that sort, but dang does it really feel like Mn teams are. The Wolves just lost in 6 and now Wild are in danger of the same thing. Let's hope this wakes up the team and they win the next two and it's not even close.

Tom Brady will be the newest man in the booth for Fox!... When he's decided to call it a career, could be next year or 40 years from now who knows. But I gotta say between him and Romo(who calls games on CBS with Jim Nantz) in the booth calling games I'm excited! Just to hear how he is as a broadcaster and his analysis. I mean you don't win 7 rings and 3 MVP's from being lucky.. ok there's a few where he may have. But either way once he retires(for good) he'll be in the booth calling games. And for us Viking fans we'll probably hear him on quite a few of our games as we primarily have our games broadcasted on Fox.

Welp! It's something we've seen before, have a chance to go up 3-1 and end the series at home... but nope! If you haven't figured it out I'm talking about the Wild last night. Yea it was not pretty..
Started out looking decent tied 1-1 at the end of the first. After that it was all St Louis. It was for the most part an even game. Between faceoffs won, shots on goal, blocks and hits it was all close, and if you based it off that you probably wouldn't be able to tell who won. But the Blues did 5-2. The big reason they won in my opinion, they got way too many 2nd chance opportunities. They'd throw the puck on Fleury and it'd pop off him and they get sometimes not one, two, or three but four different chances. I think part of it is the defense trying to regain control of the puck and shift it to offense, but the other half is Fleury... I think sometimes he dives alittle too often and the opposition notices that just waits an extra millisecond and then wrist it home. I don't think Fleury will be taken out of net for tomorrow's game. He'll more than likely start throughout the rest of the playoffs unless he gets injured. We get to come back home in front of the best fans in the NHL and get a chance to take a 3-2 series lead and end it in St. Louis. How sweet would that be, considering we didn't beat the Blues during the regular season. Either way we need to continue to play physical cause that is our identity. If we can play mean and aggressive and bring it to them early they will submit. But once we let off the gas we see they can capitalize quickly.
