JUNE IS MG AWARENESS MONTH
I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (MG), a rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease, when I was just 13 years old. It causes muscle weakness and fatigue—things that can make everyday life unpredictable.
Riding bikes has been one of the best ways I’ve found to stay active and healthy. I’m not the fastest rider, but I’ve completed long-distance routes by going at my own pace. Every time I meet with other MG patients in support groups, I’m reminded how fortunate I am to be able to ride and stay physically active. I don’t take it for granted.
June is National Myasthenia Gravis Awareness Month—a time to recognize those living with MG and support continued research efforts. If you’ve never heard of MG or don’t know anyone with it—now you do.
