A Night On the Town- Philip Barbour Prom 2026 This event page is to share about the first ever prom on Main Street in Philippi, WV! The event is invitation only for PB students & their ticketed guests.

The coronation will be held at 7:30 PM on the courthouse steps. Public can attend coronation only!

We have told many but also wanted to post here & compliment the students for being so amazing on prom night!! They were respectful & truly just lived in the moment enjoying themselves!! We joked that they even threw their trash away but it's true; clean up was a snap 🤣
Honestly Barbour County needs to be proud of these teens, I know we all are ❤️

When the idea for prom downtown started there was a special conversation with Susanne Marsh Frame about incorporating what would become Midtown on Main. This turned into a special experience as she, Jason Frame & their staff helped brain storm & support our vision. Abrezia Mitchell & Susanne even helped finalize decor! We would like to extend so much appreciation for their role in "A Night On the Town". Go follow their page to see what's coming! This business is helping others to revive our community ❤️

We have to shout out our two prom dads Frankie Stalnaker & Adam McDaniel for truly doing all the things as we pulled the event together. If you were around at all Friday & Saturday they were both busy beavers 🦫 🦫

Even businesses from other counties helped with prom! Crazy Harry's Greenhouse provided us some flowers & ferns to use for decor! Please check them out for your greenhouse needs!

Jeremy Drennen with the City of Philippi, WV was instrumental in helping pull off the prom downtown. He & Chasity McCartney started meeting with us very early on in the planning process. From coordinating the installation of the beautiful lights, to brainstorming ideas, to meeting with us about tent placement, to cooking plus providing what was needed for the BBQ fundraiser, to taking photos all night at the prom, to organizing drone coverage; he truly was a key part of the success of this event. We would also like to thank any city staff members helped with food prep for the BBQ!

Our beautiful backdrop for prom was the Barbour County Courthouse square. From the start Shana Frey answered questions, coordinated with our committee, & helped make suggestions for the event. Several court house employees including Gerald Fogg planted flowers & assisted with making the courthouse 'shine'. Angie Stalnaker (also a prom parent) helped with some final details. Check out the light fixture she & Frankie Stalnaker teamed up to clean & put a new bulb in plus the temporary light string he added for the night!
Verle Brown deserves another shout out for working tirelessly to paint, clean up the gazebo, mow, & pressure wash the grounds! We can't thank him enough!

Early on a special community member messaged & asked "how can I help?" Beth Marsh met to brainstorm & figure out ways she could contribute to prom. She gave up her entire day Saturday to fill in gaps, make suggestions & created a beautiful outdoor photo backdrop on the courthouse lawn. She even coordinated some of her friends to help out so that the "prom parents" could step away to enjoy an hour or two with their kids before the festivities started. If you see Beth out, please thank her for contributing to the success of "A Night On the Town" ❤️
