Philly Music Fest

Philly Music Fest October 12-18. All Philly bands at independent venues, supporting music education.

Philly Music Fest was founded in 2017 by Jenn and Greg Seltzer and is curated and produced by Greg Seltzer. Jenn and Greg are devoted Philadelphians, both born and raised in the Philadelphia region. Our mission is to host a music festival celebrating and featuring Philadelphia musicians – with a slight twist. By structuring Philly Music Fest as a non-profit, and eliminating compensation typically

paid to a producer or promoter, we are able to pay musicians well to play the festival, then donate money to local kids music education programs. The beauty of Philly Music Fest is that in an effort to reinvest in the Philly music community, we all come together and enjoy a massive dose of live music, celebrating the music of Philadelphia.

Celebrating 10 years of Philly Music Fest artwork by . Like the venues we support, every aspect of PMF is unwaveringly independent. Adherence to the mission of featuring Philly musicians, supporting independent venues and donating profits to kids music education - has led to growth and significant annual economic impact for the Philly music community.

We’ll unveil the PMF26 design along with the stellar lineup on Tuesday, 5/19. Tickets go onsale on Friday, 5/22 at 10AM.

Busy slide, but please pinch and zoom - our Supporters deserve your attention. If you’ve been to a PMF show, you’ve seen no corporate banners, no presenting sponsors, no government presence (or support). Our Supporters donate to Philly Music Fest because they care about supporting musicians, independent venues and music education. We literally could not execute PMF without our Supporters.

Couple more posts until our little nonprofit hibernates, but this post is always the best post. After paying all the amazing musicians to perform across nine shows and compensating the six independent venues, Philly Music Fest is again donating $100,000 to music education programs teaching and supporting Philly kids. The music programs we support include: , , , , , and .

Thanks to all the bands, with special thanks to , , , , .ebo, , and . Thanks to the independent venues: , , , , and . Thanks to , and .

And, if you’re still reading - thanks to YOU, our supporters and all the fans that come out to the shows. These are “benefit shows”, but the goal has always been that when you come out to a PMF show it feels just like going to see your favorite band or checking out a new band - but behind the scenes, the DIY engine of PMF ensures that the musicians and venues get paid BEFORE the promoter and producer, then if the shows do well and money remains - we donate it. We cannot execute on such an unusual business model without your support. So, from both Jenn and I - much love, thanks and if you keep coming out, we’ll keep working hard to keep it going.
