is a legendary DJ and cultural ambassador from Philadelphia who’s been spinning vinyl since the early 1980s. Known for his deep knowledge of Funk, Soul, Disco, and Rare Groove, he’s built a global reputation through his iconic Butta 45s parties, his writing platform Nostalgia King, and appearances at festivals and institutions worldwide. From Tokyo to Berlin, Skeme carries Philadelphia’s Black music legacy across continents.

Next up we celebrate our indepenDANCE with a very special guest- returning to Philadelphia for the first time since 2022 we welcome none other than the fabulous, tINI!

During her last visit, she played deep into the early morning hours absolutely demolishing a secret warehouse location for more than 5 hours. We expect nothing less this time around.

Philly’s house & techno legacy goes B2B Next Friday at BASTET playing the closing set following special guest Grant Dell. As founding DJs and promoters behind the legendary Special K and Circle parties, Rob Paine & Okeef helped build Philadelphia into a major hub for electronic music on the East Coast, pushing the deeper, dubbier elements of house and techno from the early ‘90s onward. With releases on Worship Recordings, Leftroom, and Dubwise, the duo behind “Circle” reunite on one floor for a special night rooted in vinyl, shared history, and a sound that fused Philly’s house with the moodier, psychedelic edge prominent out West. This one’s definitely for the vinyl diggers and trainspotters.

A little history 🧐- the original incarnation of the venue now occupied by Bastet, known as the Palmer Social Club, was home to Okeef’s Saturday residency, which helped establish the dark, loft-like space as a highly coveted late venue for underground house heads. Okeef would frequently host other members of the Circle crew to join him, including Rob and Sean Thomas.

Some of you may heard… but we want to make it official! 📣 Without further ado we would like to welcome Gvantsky as our newest Subsurface resident.

Her commitment behind the decks and on the dance floor has quite literally painted the perfect blueprint for commitment to dance musical culture. Growing emensly as a DJ over the last few years and support as a dancer has exemplified what our little community is all about.

Friday June 19th, Worship & Subsurface team up in welcoming UK tech house pioneer- Grant Dell!

Taking over the all new on Floor 2 is Worship head honcho Rob Paine & releasing artist O’Keef along with Subsurface resident Gvantsky.

On Floor 1 the legendary- Skeme Richards takes over from open to close.
