Philadelphia showed its Greek pride in full force at the 2026 Greek Independence Day Parade! 🎉Thousands gathered along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to both march and spectate as we celebrated the 250th anniversary of American Independence and the 205th anniversary of Greek Independence. 🇬🇷🇺🇸
The parade was honored by His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey, clergy from across the region, Federation leadership, past presidents of the Federation serving as the 2026 Grand Marshals, our Eleftheria Medalist-Steve Kontos, representatives from AHEPA, the Daughters of Penelope, Sons of Pericles, local and state officials, veterans, and distinguished guests from throughout the Greek-American community. We also had the honor of welcoming Greece’s Presidential Guard, the Evzones, to Philadelphia for the Celebration Weekend. Thank you lastly to our Emcee for the event, Artemis Tsingiropoulos, for announcing every group that crossed the grandstands and giving them their spotlight!
From the youngest students marching for the very first time to the elders who have preserved these traditions for decades, the day was a beautiful reminder that Hellenism remains alive and strong in Philadelphia. Thank you to every volunteer, organizer, participant, sponsor, parish, and attendee who made this year’s parade such a meaningful and memorable celebration. We look forward to seeing you again next year on April 4th, 2027!
