Una Voz por la Paz, la Concordia y la Armonía: XII Festival Internacional de Poesía en Filadelfia (En persona en PhillyCAM)

Una Voz por la Paz, la Concordia y la Armonía, el XII Festival Internacional de Poesía en Filadelfia, celebrado en el marco del XX Festival Internacional de Poesía (FIP) Palabra en el Mundo, congregará poetas de América Latina y los Estados Unidos en un atardecer de verso y música. Cada poeta leerá sus poemas y al final de cada ronda escucharemos piezas musicales del grupo Sonqo.

El evento se llevará a cabo en PhillyCAM de 5:30 p.m. a 8:30 p.m. el miércoles 29 de abril, 2026.

Este evento es gratuito y presentado por la Biblioteca Pública de Filadelfia, Acción Colombia y el Departamento de Español y Portugués de Temple University.
Agradecemos especialmente la colaboración de PhillyCAM por el apoyo logístico de la transmisión en vivo de este evento.

A Voice for Peace, Concord and Harmony: XII International Poetry Festival in Philadelphia (In person at PhillyCAM)

Wednesday, Abril 29, 2026 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

A Voice for Peace, Concord and Harmony, the XII International Poetry Festival in Philadelphia, an event carried out as part of the XX International Poetry Festival (FIP) Palabra en el Mundo, will congregate poets from Latin America and USA in an evening of verse and music. Each poet will read their poems, and at the end of each round a short musical performance from the Sonqo group will follow.

This event will be at PhillyCAM from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

This free event is presented by the Free Library of Philadelphia, Acción Colombia and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Temple University. We especially appreciate the collaboration of PhillyCAM for the logistical support of the live broadcast of this event.

🙏✨ Nos alegra anunciar la participación de Bambi Nieves en la 7ª Feria Latinoamericana del Libro ✨🙏

Bambi Nieves es une autore afrolatine no binarie de expresión femenina que crea mundos fantásticos donde cada niñe puede verse celebrade. Su primer libro ilustrado, The Perfect Prince(ss), es un cuento de hadas afirmativo que brinda a los niños el lenguaje para decir: “¡Sé quién soy!”.

Como escritore y colorista, Bambi utiliza la narración para desafiar las creencias limitantes sobre la identidad, creando espacios donde todos los niños puedan florecer de manera auténtica.

Bambi Nieves is a femme-presenting non-binary Afro-Latina author who creates fantastical worlds where every child can see themselves celebrated. Their debut picture book, The Perfect Prince(ss), is an affirming fairy tale that gives children the language to say: “I know who I am!”

As both writer and colorist, Bambi uses storytelling to challenge limiting beliefs about identity, creating spaces where all children can flourish authentically.

🙏✨ Nos alegra anunciar la participación de Henry en la 7ª Feria Latinoamericana del Libro ✨🙏

Henry estudió artes plásticas en su ciudad natal y continuó su desarrollo artístico en México y Nueva York. En 1985 representó a Venezuela en la Bienal de Venecia y, desde 2003, reside en Filadelfia, donde ha desarrollado una obra pictórica profundamente conectada con la realidad artística de Estados Unidos.

A lo largo de su trayectoria, ha realizado más de 50 exposiciones individuales y más de 80 colectivas, consolidándose como un artista de proyección internacional.

Henry studied fine arts in his hometown and continued his artistic development in Mexico and New York. In 1985, he represented Venezuela at the Venice Biennale. Since 2003, he has lived in Philadelphia, where his work has evolved with a vision more closely integrated into the reality of art in the United States.

Over the course of his career, he has held more than 50 solo exhibitions and participated in over 80 group shows, establishing himself as an artist of international scope.

Hoy escribe sobre su historia personal y el comportamiento humano, con el propósito de despertar conciencias y motivar a otros a romper con los ciclos de resignación y falta de oportunidades. Su obra es un testimonio de perseverancia, reflexión y búsqueda de una vida más digna.

Nacido en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, Aníbal es poeta, escritor, artista plástico, locutor y profesor. Con más de 36 años de experiencia en la educación y el deporte universitario, ha ocupado cargos relevantes en la Organización Deportiva Universitaria de Centroamérica y el Caribe y ha participado en numerosos congresos nacionales e internacionales.

Entre sus obras se encuentran Todo sobre tenis (2005), las novelas Una sombra en el Camino y De un otoño a una primavera (inédita), y el libro de poemas y fotografías Mis imágenes y mis pensamientos. Actualmente escribe sobre inmigración y ha realizado exposiciones de pintura.

Edgar Gomez es un escritor q***r nica-rriqueño, nacido y criado en Florida. Es autor de las memorias High-Risk Homosexual, obra ganadora del American Book Award, el Stonewall Israel-Fishman Nonfiction Book Honor Award, y el Lambda Literary Award.

Su segundo libro, Alligator Tears, publicado en febrero de 2025, fue descrito por Publisher’s Weekly como “triunfante, deslumbrante y de un estilo impecable”.

Graduado del programa de MFA de la Universidad de California, Edgar ha escrito para medios como The LA Times, Poets & Writers, Lithub y New York Magazine, entre otros. Ha recibido becas de la New York Foundation for the Arts, la National Endowment for the Arts y el Black Mountain Institute. Actualmente reside entre Nueva York y Puerto Rico.

Edgar Gomez is a q***r NicaRican writer born and raised in Florida. He is the author of the memoir High-Risk Homosexual, winner of the American Book Award, the Stonewall Israel-Fishman Nonfiction Book Honor Award, and the Lambda Literary Award.

Their sophomore book, Alligator Tears, released in February 2025, was praised by Publisher’s Weekly as “triumphant, dazzling, and unfailingly stylish.”

A graduate of the University of California’s MFA program, Gomez has written for The LA Times, Poets & Writers, Lithub, New York Magazine, and more. They have received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Black Mountain Institute. Edgar currently lives between New York and Puerto Rico.
