Supporting graduating seniors across Virginia who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, responsibility, and a commitment to community service.

This scholarship is open to Class of 2027 seniors from all Virginia-based high schools who plan to attend Virginia State University or Virginia Union University.

🏆 VUU WINS THE REIMAGINED GOLD BOWL RIVALRY! 🏆

On behalf of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Nu Lambda Chapter, we are thrilled to crown the Virginia Union University Athletic Department as the champion of our Reimagined Gold Bowl contest against VSU!

Held during our 4th Annual Seafood & Music Festival, this friendly competition directly supports our chapter’s educational and scholarship funds for local high school students heading to VUU and VSU.

The Final Score:VUU (148) | VSU (136)

After a thrilling back-and-forth battle—including an overtime boost from VUU alumna Ms. An'jou White and a massive sponsorship upgrade from The Massie Law Firm—the Panthers took home the win! 🐾

🎁 Winner's Award:

As the champion, VUU receives a $500 award and 6 complimentary VVIP tickets to next year’s festival!

It’s one thing to have a vision, but it’s a beautiful thing when others see that vision and help bring it to reality. 📸👇

The Seafood & Music Festival Committee truly enjoyed telling "our story" during the grant application process for the 4th Annual Seafood and Music Festival. Distilling the legacy of Alpha Phi Alpha and our dedication to Tri-Cities youth into words was a labor of love—and the John Randolph Foundation truly listened.

We are incredibly grateful for their generous grant. Because they believed in our story, the Nu Lambda Chapter can expand our "Go To High School, Go To College" scholarships and continue providing critical professional practicums for hospitality students at Virginia State University and Virginia Union University.

We're proud to have granted the Nu Lambda Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to support their 4th Annual Seafood and Music Festival!

Since 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha has stood on the pillars of Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind — and this festival brings that mission to life. Bringing together 500 guests for an afternoon of fresh seafood, live music, art, and local vendors, the event funds "Go-To-College" scholarships that break down financial barriers for Tri-Cities youth, while giving hospitality students from Virginia State University and Virginia Union University real-world experience through a Professional Practicum.

A massive thank you to Ms. An'jou White for her incredible generosity at the 4th Annual Seafood & Music Festival! During our live auction, Ms. White placed the winning bid for a bottle of Greenwood Whiskey's 1906 Straight Bourbon.

This premium, award-winning bourbon holds a deep historical significance—its name pays homage to 1906, the year the historic Greenwood District (Black Wall Street) was founded.

We are so grateful for Ms. White's amazing support, which directly helps make our community initiatives possible. Please join us in thanking her in the comments!

🚨 Seafood Lovers, Family & Friends 🚨

The response to the 4th Annual Seafood & Music Festival: "One IV The Ages", was absolutely overwhelming! We are incredibly grateful for your excitement. We are so glad you agreed that the music, live entertainment, and food were amazing—and that the line bottleneck was well worth the wait! Based on our survey results, our reserved seating options were also a huge hit, and we are thrilled to bring them back.

We heard your feedback regarding the wait times, and we are already actively addressing the serving line bottlenecks for next year's event on Saturday, September 11, 2027. To ensure a seamless experience, we are adding more food trucks and bringing on additional support staff by collaborating with the Virginia State University Hospitality Management Department to keep the lines moving fast!

We reached out to our loyal supporters via email this morning, to give you an exclusive opportunity to reserve your table(s) before the official Eventbrite link goes live to the general public on March 1, 2027. Greetings Festival Goers and Friends,

“Thank you” is one of the wonderful phrases that we often use to express sincere gratitude. “Thank you” says you really didn’t have to, but I’m so glad you did. So, “Thank you” for attending the Nu Lambda Alphas Seafood & Music Festival! It was a fantastic event filled with incredible flavors and unforgettable rhythms—an experience that our sponsors, performers, vendors, interns, and community won't soon forget.

This festival was successful largely due to the amazing energy of our attendees and everyone who assisted with, supported, and participated in the event. As such, on behalf of the Festival Planning Committee, we would like to specifically thank our culinary vendors for serving up spectacular seafood, our talented musical lineup for keeping the crowd dancing, our hard-working interns for their invaluable support, and our generous sponsors for making this vision a reality. We heard countless compliments throughout the event regarding the incredible food, the vibrant music, and the seamless organization. The weekend was everything we planned it would be and more.

Based on the incredible turnout and record attendance achieved this year, the Festival Planning Committee is already making strides to make next year’s event even bigger, better, and more delicious!
