🌳How has Measure M funding been invested in Petaluma's parks, people & community over the last eight years? [Español abajo]
From playgrounds and swimming pools to walking trails and open spaces, Petaluma's 48 parks help keep our community healthy, active, and connected! At its October 5 meeting, City Council received an update on how Petaluma has invested more than $6 million in Measure M – Parks for All funding since the voter-approved countywide sales tax took effect in 2018.
Here's a look at what those investments have helped make possible:
🛝 More places to play: 4 playground replacements, 6 tennis courts, 4 new pickleball courts, and the 23,000-square-foot skatepark at Lucchesi Park now under construction!
🌳 Better parks: Enhanced maintenance of our 48 parks, including improvements to walking paths, playgrounds, and landscaping.
🏊 Swimming and summer jobs: Investments in our public pools support affordable swim lessons, water safety, and seasonal jobs that help local teens build valuable life skills.
🌱 Greener public spaces: Managed grazing, water-saving irrigation, and open space maintenance help care for our environment.
❤️ A stronger community: Parks and recreation programs bring neighbors together, keep residents of all ages active, and make Petaluma a wonderful place to call home.
These investments reflect priorities shaped by community input from more than 800 residents!
