What if your next gallery visit was a more intimate experience? A conversation about art over tea?

Tea in the Gallery is just for you!

Tea in the Gallery is a slower evening of art, tea tasting, and conversation inside The Monastery. Guests will taste three intentional tea blends, spend time with the current exhibition through simple viewing prompts, and choose their favorite blend to bottle and take home.

It’s not a workshop. It’s not a lecture. It’s a slower way to experience art, notice what speaks to you, and share the evening with a small group of thoughtful people.

Artist Opportunities at The Monastery

We have several opportunities coming up for Arizona artists and makers to share their work at The Monastery.

**The Grand Art Show**
Our upcoming group exhibition is now accepting submissions from artists interested in being part of this end of year show.

**Ten by Ten**
A special feature wall within The Grand Art Show featuring original works measuring 10 by 10 inches. Every piece will be available for the same price of **$200**, creating an approachable way for visitors to begin or grow an art collection.

**Artist Christmas Tree**
We are inviting local artists and makers to create handmade ornaments for our 14 foot gallery Christmas tree. Selected ornaments will be displayed throughout the holiday season and available for visitors to purchase.

Three different ways to participate. Three different ways to get your work in front of our community.

There's plenty happening this month, whether you want to make something, slow down with a cup of tea, try your hand at pottery, or simply spend an afternoon with art.

September 17 at 5 PM
Tea in the Gallery
An intimate guided tea experience pairing thoughtfully crafted blends with art, reflection, and conversation.

September 20 at 3 PM
Linocut Workshop with Jyll Mullen
Learn the process of carving and printing your own linocut in this hands on creative workshop.

Every Friday at 6 PM and Saturdays at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM
Pottery Wheel Class w/ The King and The Flower

Journey: The Art of Gaylen Stewart & David Brady is on view through September 20. The exhibition explores the artists' personal journeys and the ways art can become a tool for processing, reflection, and healing.

Born in Los Angeles, Phoenix-based David Brady is known for his powerful, provocative images of contemporary life and his continuous exploration of the figure through collage, assemblage, oil, and drawing. His recently published graphic memoir, “Into the Tunnel,” chronicles his experience being treated for, and as a survivor of Stage 3 throat cancer.

David, now five years cancer free, turned to drawing as a way to document and process his own cancer journey. His sketches became both personal record and connection point, capturing not only his own experience but also the people surrounding it, including fellow patients, medical professionals, friends, family, and the larger community of voices attempting to offer help and support. His work reflects on the noise that often surrounds illness, the complicated ways people show up for one another, and the unexpected relationships formed along the way. These drawings later became part of a book chronicling that journey.
