Your drone is only as good as its last checkup.
Last week our Mavic 2 battery swelled and split open mid-flight. A thirty-dollar part left unchecked becomes a two-thousand-dollar rebuild, so we run the same preventive maintenance checklist on every job:
1. Inspect every battery before and after flight. Swelling, excess heat, or a loose fit means that battery is retired, no exceptions.
2. Check props and motors every time. Nicks, cracks, or grit in a motor are crash warnings, not cosmetic issues.
3. Calibrate and update on a schedule. Compass, IMU, and firmware get checked before shoot day, never on set.
We fly this checklist because a broadcast-ready production cannot afford a dead bird over the field.

For the operators out there: what is the one pre-flight check you never skip?
Save this for your next pre-flight.
