OToday, we remember the dogs who may no longer be by our side, but will always be part of our lives.

They were there for ordinary days, big moments, hard seasons and some of our very best memories. And when they leave us, the love they gave us doesn’t leave with them.

Each year at Paw-di Gras, we’re proud to make a special place for those dogs through our Rainbow Bridge signs. Seeing their names lining the streets of Paw-di Gras is always one of the most meaningful parts of the day. It’s our way of making sure the dogs we’ve loved and lost still get to be part of a day created because of how much dogs mean to all of us.

If you have a pet you’d like to remember, you can have a Rainbow Bridge sign made in their honor. We’ll proudly display it at Paw-di Gras, and after the event, the sign is yours to take home and keep.

Because they may cross the Rainbow Bridge, but they never stop being part of our families.

Today, we remember yours, ours and all the dogs who left their paw prints on our hearts.

Meet Honey.

This sweet girl is one of the reasons we keep showing up for Pensacola Paw-di Gras year after year.

Honey was adopted from the Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare while heartworm positive, which means going home with her new family also meant beginning the treatment she needs to become healthy.

And that treatment comes with an additional cost.

For some families, that expense can be the difference between saying “yes, she’s coming home with us” and having to walk away from a dog they already love.

That’s where Paw-di Gras comes in.

Funds raised through Pensacola Paw-di Gras help partially sponsor heartworm treatment for dogs like Honey after they are adopted, helping offset some of that financial burden for their new families.

At $1,500, this level was designed for businesses that want both a meaningful investment in our mission and a strong presence throughout the Paw-di Gras season.

One of our favorite things about Pensacola Paw-di Gras is that it truly takes a community to make it happen.

We may be out of the dog days of summer, but the heat isn't letting up anytime soon and keeping our dogs cool is one of our top priorities.
