Head for the Hills offers a varied mix of events.
“Whether you ride motorcycles, race mini wedges, love to sing or enjoy being around them, the Festival offers something for you,” said Justin Williams, festival committee co-chair.
The 2025 Head for the Hills Festival is set for this Thursday-Saturday at the Legendary Pennsboro Speedway.
“As we all know, money doesn’t grow on trees and in the spirit of having a great time, the festival committee has dropped the daily admission fee from $15 to $10,” added Connie Frederick-Williams, co-chair.
She is also president of the Ritchie County Tourism & Visitors Bureau.
“It’s our gift back to you, the people of Ritchie County and everyone who supports the festival through sponsorships, donations or attendance,” said Frederick-Williams.
Festival admission is $30 for the four-day weekend, $25 for veterans for the four-day weekend or $10 per day.
The Festival is opening its gates free of charge Friday evening, August 15, at 5 p.m., for anyone who donates $10 worth of non-perishable food.
“As a bonus, we have also decided to open our gates free of charge Thursday evening as well,” explained Williams.
Thursday and Friday admission is waived in lieu of a donation of $10 in value of non-perishable food items.
Purchase tickets online at www.HeadForTheHillsWV.com through Wednesday, August 13, at noon, or at the welcome pavilion beginning Thursday, August 14.
“If you want to come in, sing some karaoke or watch the entertainment, just stop by with some can food and spend Thursday and Friday evenings at the festival,” he added.
In celebration of this free admission evening, the festival is hosting a “bonfire” Friday evening.
The festival has three individual three-foot fire rings they will use to contain the fire. Safety is always a first at the festival and every precaution is taken to ensure just that.
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Wood County Post 32 Veterans Food Bank, is the festival’s 2025 veterans project.

🚨🚨📣UPDATE🚨🚨We have been contacted by the compliance department of the WV State Tax Division urging the Head for the Hills Festival™ to make sure each vendor sat up at the Trade Days knows they are required to have a WV Business License prior to setting up. There is one-time fee of $30 to acquire this license. They have provided us with the paperwork to assist those wishing to get a WV Business License. You can apply online.

Connie has offered to assist with online applications during in-person trade days vendor registration Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 from Noon-4 pm at the Head for the Hills Welcome Area at the metal roof pavilion. She will be able to print documentation provided to applicants by the online tax portal.🔥🔥To set up at trade days, those interested may also contact Connie at 304.266.2250. 🏍

🚨🚨📣In lieu of this, the festival will offer a $30 discount to trade days vendors applying for a WV Business License to set up at the 2025 H4TH Festival!🚨🚨Make sure to bring a copy of your license or online approval paperwork for the discount.
