Tonight we presented our two annual scholarships to two seniors. The Charlotte Grady Fitzpatrick Award went to Owen Droney. This is given to a student that has shown interest and enthusiasm in theatre and been involved in our organization. Then we presented the Brian Cerow Memorial Scholarship to Campbell McCroskey. Brian was an incredible pianist and board member at the time of his passing. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, he was an avid supporter of the arts. Candidates for this scholarship must be either majoring in theatre or music. Campbell will be studying Vocal Performance and Dramatic Arts at Trevecca Nazarene University in the fall. Congratulations to both of you and all of the recipients at tonight’s award ceremony.

We are a little biased but we think our kids are the most talented young performers out there. With only one “refresher” rehearsal, they did a phenomenal job this afternoon at the Milly’s Market Grand Reopening Celebration. Songs from the last five years of PYTCo Youth and a preview of this summer.

Who doesn’t love a good rehearsal? We certainly do! “But what are you rehearsing for right now?” Great question, we’d love to tell you! We were invited to perform at the Milly’s Pantry Grand Opening this Saturday at 2:00. We will be performing a selection of songs from recent youth summer productions and a medley preview of this years show! Stop by at see us and celebrate this big milestone!

Our historic marker signifies the proud history of the Sampson Theatre. From a vaudeville house, to talkie movies, mini golf, a Chrysler dealership, and a storage facility: these walls have sure seen a lot. That’s all about to change REAL SOON! Bids for a GC are due at the end of the week and we are about to take off on phase 1A: structural stabilization. The building is pretty solid, but we need to ensure it’ll stand another 100+ years!
