Children's Rodeo The Children’s Rodeo is an annual event organized by the InterMountain Education Service District (IMESD) in partnership with the Pendleton Round-Up.

This event offers children with special needs from IMESD school districts the opportunity to be cowboys and cowgirls inside the famous Pendleton Round-Up Arena. The event offers children with special needs from IMESD school districts the opportunity to be cowboys and cowgirls inside the famous Pendleton Round-Up Arena. It is held on the Thursday (Tough Enough to Wear Pink Day) of Round-Up week at 10:30 AM. The children, ages 5 through 10, participate in a variety of events, including horseback riding, roping, barrel racing on stick ponies, riding a mock bull, visiting a teepee and more. Each participant receives a trophy, T-shirt, lariat, cowboy hat, scarf and photo. Volunteer cowboys and cowgirls are needed every year for the event; those interested can meet at the Arena at 10 AM. The Children’s Rodeo is FREE and open to the public, and spectators are encouraged to come cheer on the young cowboys and cowgirls! Students from several area school districts often attend the event.
