Y'all Come!!! Sunflower Festival at Denver Downs!
For the next two weekends, Anderson County comes alive with color from more than 75,000 sunflowers. The 8th Annual Denver Downs Sunflower Festival opens Saturday, July 11th and runs for two weekends. The historic 200-acre farm will offer guests food, beverages, and plenty of activities for all ages.
Visitors to the Denver Downs Farm, located at 1515 Denver Road, can take home sunflowers, enjoy live music, capture photos, visit local vendors, and experience special attractions, according to Catherine Garrison Davis, co-owner of Denver Downs.
"Sunflowers radiate pure joy, and we are absolutely thrilled to share that magic," Davis said. During a pre-festival tour of the farm, Davis couldn’t stop taking pictures of the flowers, always appreciating the bees and sunlight. "We can't wait to see all the smiles and share our love for sunflowers."
Davis wanted to remind visitors that along with traditional yellow and black sunflowers, attendees will be treated to exotic sunflower varieties they may have never seen before. Denver Downs Farm is showcasing a diverse range of sunflower varieties, including Firecracker, Teddy Bear, and Sunrich Lime. Visitors will also encounter Vincent's Choice, Sunbright Supreme, Double Quick Orange, Pro-Cut Gold Lite, and Pro-Cut Red.
This year, the photo opportunities have multiplied with over 20 creative photo ops throughout the fields. Each Saturday, there will also be a professional photographer in the field to take your photo via the MAE, Making Memories Matter app.
The Vine and Barrel B**r Garden will be open, serving Sunflower Sangria and Flower Frose’. Lemonade will also be available, along with food options such as kettle corn, hot dogs, and chicken tenders.
Festival dates are July 11-12 and July 18-19.
