The Vendor Market is postponed until further notice due to the Event Organizer’s resignation from the Fair Board.

Our next meeting is June 5th. We hope to appoint new volunteers to salvage the event and see which weeks we can commit to operating. If it’s a go, we will approve our Market Vendor Packets and release them to the public as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience as we regroup.

Tomorrow’s market at the Baraga County Fairgrounds is canceled.

As this was scheduled to be our very first market, we are incredibly sad to have to make this call. However, it is incredibly important to us that we ensure a positive, seamless experience and make a great first impression for everyone involved.

We sincerely apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause our valued vendors, patrons, and community members.

Please stay posted for updates. We hope we can welcome you all properly very soon—see you in June!

** EDIT** MARKET IS CANCELED FOR 5/18/2026***

Surprise! We aren’t waiting until June.

We’ve decided to host a small trial run of our Monday night markets on May 18th, while we continue clearing things out of storage.

We’re calling it the “Pelkie Co-Op,” as a nod to our local history. The original Pelkie Co-operative Store was the agricultural heart of Baraga County for decades, supporting Finnish-American dairy farmers with everything from a cheese factory to a milk plant. While the building closed in '95, the "co-op" spirit was always about local producers and community supporters.

We’re bringing that back on a smaller scale: Whether you’re a farmer with fresh produce, a baker with sourdough, or a crafter with handmade goods, this is your space to grow.

Think of this as the ultimate soft launch. If you've got early starts, fresh bread, or just want to check out the vibe, come hang out.

Vendor Information:

$10 Drop-in: Perfect for when the garden gets out of control or you have a random desire to bake.

$150 Season Pass: Lock in your spot for the whole season (up to 19 weeks). Includes Fair Weekend (August 7–9).

We’ll be taking a breather on Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the Monday after the Fair (Aug 10th) so everyone can recharge, but otherwise, we’re here for you every Monday from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

100% of the fees will go straight back into the Fairgrounds. Want to be part of the legacy? Shoot us a message for more details!

Our new website is officially live, but consider it a "work in progress"—just like the fairgrounds themselves. While we are still busy finalizing our events and schedule, we wanted to get the site up so you could see the progress.
The donation and contact pages are already working for those who want to help us lay the foundation for this year. Whether you’re a business or a neighbor, your support helps us bring our heritage back to life.
Keep an eye on the site as we add more details in the coming weeks. Click the attached link here, or in our about section.

It’s not "too wet"; it’s a high-performance aquatic obstacle course designed to test the limits of your ego and your winch.

On a more serious note, we truly hope everyone is staying safe and doing well during this spring flood season.

Here’s to keeping your spirits high and your boots dry!

You guys voted, and we have a winner! Mondays from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM is our new weekly sweet spot. It’s the perfect "after-work" window to swing by, catch up with neighbors, and grab fresh goods for the week.

Now, we just need to decide when to open the gates! Do we kick things off early in May for seedlings and syrup, or wait until June?

From the "Best Little Fair in the North" to "A Tradition Worth Keeping."

For years, we’ve dubbed ourselves "The Best Little Fair in the North." It’s a title that captured the heart of our small-but-mighty community. But as we look around at the generations of families coming through our gates, we realized we’re becoming something even bigger than a "little fair." We are a legacy. We are a yearly reunion. We are a staple of a Baraga County summer. That’s why we are officially transitioning to our new tagline:

Baraga County Fair: “A Tradition Worth Keeping."
