Step 1: Pick up the posters at Mill Creek Antiques in downtown Paxico on a Friday, Saturday, or Monday 9-5.
Step 2: Take a picture of you hanging the posters in 5 or more spots.

Get on out to the Fest early, get yer merch, grab a great spot, and have yourself a Gospel Brunch. We’re grateful to have KVMR Freedom Highway host kicking off the fest spinning your favorite gospel tracks (and some from deep in the vault) from 10am-11am.

Passionate that things can be a little different, Little Sunny has worked with homeless folks and in agriculture around the country. Now, an Organic farmer and proud father residing in beautiful Chicago Park, Little Sunny enjoys traveling the land spreading the gospel of cover cropping while scouring record shops for that heavy dose of the human spirit.

Join us for the 22nd Edition of the annual Paxico Blues Festival on Saturday September 19, 2026! This is the WORLD'S GREATEST FREE BLUES FESTIVAL! This year we are going BIG with an amazing collective of world class blues artists. For over two decades, the Paxico Blues Festival has celebrated big city blues in a small town setting in the beautiful Flint Hills of Paxico, KS.

Every year several thousand festival goers venture to downtown Paxico on the third Saturday in September from 11AM to 8PM to enjoy local food trucks, antiquing, and the region’s top blues musicians. This free admission festival is always known for showcasing top talent and national and international stars.

Paxico People, we are proud to announce our final Artist: Big Mike & The R&B Kings! Fresh off being a 2026 IBC Finalist! Big Mike Perez is a Chicago native Blues artist who has resided in New Orleans for over 14 years. Mike is best known for his aggressive Chicago style of Blues Funk/Blues Rock Fusion and Powerful, Soulful vocals while having a charasmatic flair on stage.

Big Mike recently entered the 2026 Internationl Blues Challenge Winning 1st place locally in New Orleans and Won top 3 spot of the entire Challenge. Marking his contemporary approach to Blues music as a effective, different and something new to the world of Blues.

He has notably performed at the taste of Chicago, Chicago Bluesfest 2022 and 2023, The Canadian Montreal International Jazz Festival of 2022 with Chicago's very own Mississippi Heat. He has performed with Sierra Green and the Giants as Musical Director and Bassist. Touring and Performing all over the United States. Tampa Bay Blues Festival 2025, Big Easy Cruise in 2025, Fort Mose Jazz and Blues Fest 2025, Waterfront Blues Festival in Madison 2025, Blast Furnace Blues Fest 2025, 100 Man Hall 2025

Mike is best known for his aggressive style of blues. Emotional solos and tight gospel rhythm hits. His performances are fun and interactive.
Mike is accompanied on stage by musicians from all around the country and has created a little Chicago in New Orleans when you walk into the club.

His latest live album "On the road to Memphis" is a live recorded album in New Orleans highlighting their energetic style live in Concert. The sharpness of the band, the creativeness and overall passion is what sets this blues band apart from most.

Paxico People, we are proud to announce Nick Schnebelen, an award-winning American blues-rock musician hailing from Kansas City, Missouri. Known for his fiery guitar work and deep, soulful connection to the blues, Nick has built a reputation as a powerhouse performer, both as a solo artist and as a founding member of the internationally acclaimed band Trampled Under Foot.

Nick’s signature style is a fusion of old-school and contemporary blues, with echoes of legends like Freddie King and Buddy Guy. His electrifying live performances have taken him across North America and Europe, playing major festivals, the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, and opening for icons like George Thorogood. His relentless touring schedule and raw, passionate performances continue to captivate audiences worldwide.

In 2023, Nick released his latest studio album, What Key Is Trouble In?, a hard-hitting blues-rock record that earned him the cover feature of Making a Scenemagazine. The album reflects his evolution as an artist, blending blistering guitar work with deeply personal storytelling.

Paxico People, we are proud to announce Solomon Hicks , aka King Solomon Hicks, the 28-year-old guitar phenom from New York City [Guitarist, Vocalist, and Composer] who started playing guitar at six years old! Growing up in Harlem, he was constantly surrounded by music. Solomon witnessed performances that made a significant impact on his ambitions as a musician, and he says, “When you’re around good musicians, it gives you that spark. “Being around those types of musicians also taught me NOT to be the fastest guitar player”.

Solomon won the 2021 Blues Music Awards for Best Emerging Artist for his 2020 CD release, Harlem on Provogue Records. The set, produced/recorded by multiple Grammy Award winner Kirk Yano (Miles Davis, Public Enemy, Mariah Carey), showcases Hicks as a writer, player, and interpreter.

He was WXPN’s “Artist To Watch” for August 2020. His original song “421 SouthMain” made the Top 20 Blues Songs of 2020 on Spotify, and the song “What the Devil Loves” still gets spins on Sirius Bluesville Radio. He has performed on KISS Kruise V and Joe Bonamassa’s Blues Alive at Sea [2017 & 2019]. He's shared stages with Buddy Guy, Samantha Fish, Tony Bennett, Jeff Beck, Ringo Starr, Jimmie Vaughn, Beth Hart, Mavis Staples, Robert Cray, Eric Gales, Norman Nardini, and many others.

He is a member of the Blues Foundation and has been judged at the IBCs in Memphis, being a supporter of young Musicians and The Blues Foundation. He paid his own success forward by teaching music at the Children's Aid Society, working with the Harlem Arts Alliance, and the New York City Jazzmobile.
