Who would have thought that an evening chat on a local front porch would turn into such a wonderful, long-lasting event? With 6 days of family-friendly theater, a Saturday filled with a parade, an arts and crafts show, a 5K run/walk, and children’s activities, this event is unmatched in the area. When you add in the Sunday Summer Concert Series, Kindleberger Park becomes the place to be in the summer. When Jacob Kindleberger donated the park to the Parchment community in 1932, he envisioned a place for all of us to recreate and gather in fellowship. The Kindleberger Summer Festival of Performing Arts and Summer Concert Series epitomizes what “Uncle Jake” envisioned.

Please come to a play, join us on Festival Saturday, take in a Sunday concert, or consider a financial gift. Your participation adds to the fellowship that Mr. Kindleberger so dearly sought.

As a non profit organization, we operate exclusively on generous funding support from grants, annual fundraising events, sponsorships, and community donations. Your monetary donation allows us to continue to bring these events to the public at NO COST, accessible to everyone.

We have another exciting announcement to make! The cast list for Disney HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR is here! Congratulations to all! We welcome you to The Stage at Kindleberger!

First rehearsal is May 18 @ 4:15pm-6:15pm at the St. Ambrose Hall. Please come with a pencil, water bottle, and excitement to get started!
At 6:00pm on May 18, there will be a parent/guardian meeting at the end of rehearsal to go over cast expectations and other information. Please make sure 1 parent/guardian is present for this as we will be checking over contact information for everyone in the show.

Backstage/Run crew will not be needed at rehearsals until we move to the stage at the end of June, if available. More information to come!

AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR! The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts is seeking a cast of about 30 actors, ages 9-18, for it’s summer youth production of High School Musical Jr.!

PLEASE PREPARE the Audition cut found at https://kindlebergerarts.org/high-school-musical-jr/ ! There are tracks (both with Vocals and without provided). You will be asked to sing without the vocals at your audition.

CALLBACKS will be announced on Tues night May 12, with Callbacks held on Wed, May 13. If your name is on the callback list, it does not mean you are cast in the show. If you are NOT on that list, please check in Friday, May 15 for a Cast List announcement to see if your name is on it.

REHEARSALS will begin May 18, Monday-Thursdays 4:15-6:15. Performance dates are Wed, July 8-Sun, July 12.

A brief dance will be taught at the audition! It is suggested you watch the movie or watch some clips of the movie before auditioning so you get a feel for the dance style. We will be asking you to dribble a basketball if you are comfortable.

Please wear comfortable clothes you can dance/move in

*you will be filling out an audition form so if you need an adult to help you with that, please make sure they stay for the first or the last 15 minutes*

🎵ANNOUNCING THE 2026 KINDLEBERGER SUMMER CONCERT SERIES🎶 The City of Parchment and Kindleberger Arts Commission are excited to announce the return of the Summer Concert Series, celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2026!

For 20 seasons the Summer Concert Series at The Stage has been the heartbeat of Kindleberger Park. The sound of summer is returning to Parchment and it’s bringing a full lineup of energy, nostalgia, tribute acts, and regional talent! The annual live music series is set to kick off once again, transforming warm evenings into lively gatherings where neighbors, families, and friends come together under a canopy of mature trees at The Stage at Kindleberger.

Admission to all concerts is FREE, making the series an accessible way for the community to enjoy high quality entertainment throughout the summer. Food concessions are offered on-site by local non-profit organizations and food trucks. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and join us in beautiful Kindleberger Park for some fantastic live music performances, each beginning at 6:30pm.

FAMILY MUSICAL AUDITIONS: Footloose, the Musical 🎶

The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts is seeking a cast of 25–30 performers, ages 15 and up, to fill both teenage and adult roles. Based on the beloved 1984 film, Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack — a city teenager who moves to the small, conservative town of Bomont, where dancing and rock music have been banned. Determined to bring life back to the community, Ren rallies his peers to fight for their right to dance, falls for the reverend’s rebellious daughter Ariel, and takes on a town that’s forgotten how to have fun. Full of high energy, big heart, and iconic 80s hits, Footloose is a celebration of self-expression and the power of youth!

Audition Dates:
Monday, May 11 & Tuesday, May 12 with Callbacks May 13.
