Guitar Ted, Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame inductee and one of the most trusted voices in long-distance cycling, just posted his final pre-ride blog before pointing his 4Runner west toward the BRAN 44 start line. The bike is dialed in. The gear is sorted. The pink Black Mountain Cycles MCD is clean and ready to go.
He will be posting daily updates from the road starting this weekend, so if you want a rider's-eye view of the BRAN 44 gravel route as it actually unfolds, his blog is the place to follow along.

Attention registered BRAN 44 riders. Check your email today for an important message from us. We just sent out links to your key ride documents, including the official Rider Guide, the Survival Guide, and the transportation and bike-loading instructions.
We strongly recommend downloading the Rider Guide and Survival Guide directly to your phone before you leave home. Cell service can be spotty along parts of the route, and having those PDFs saved locally means you'll have what you need whether you have a signal or not.
Riders who come in prepared tend to have a smoother, more enjoyable experience from day one. Take a few minutes to review these before you start packing. See you out there.

Jolene painted it in oil, and her inspiration came directly from cycling Nebraska's country roads with her husband Jeff, who farms southeast of Crofton. Our friendly neighbors to the north are about to kick off a great adventure, and we could not be more excited for them.
RASDak Bike Tour rolls out on May 30, taking riders on a six-day loop through South Dakota along the Missouri River, from Platte all the way to Pierre and back. It is the kind of ride that mixes big history, wide-open roads, and the best kind of community. If you have not looked into it, you should.
We love that cyclists in this part of the country have back-to-back weeks of this kind of riding. RASdak finishes on June 5, and then BRAN 44 gets rolling shortly after. Good people on both sides of the border, doing the same thing we all love.
