Anything is possible at the Blue Sage Center. Housed in two beautiful historic buildings on the main street of rural Paonia, Colorado, the Blue Sage is a hub where teachers, students, artists and entertainers join to share their passions and talents. A community-driven arts and education center, the Blue Sage provides a venue where anyone can plan an event large or small, teach a class, put on a p

lay, arrange a concert, or schedule a talk on myriad subjects ranging from recent travel to astrophysics. A key direction for the Blue Sage is the provisions of classes designed to help the community’s youth to gain job skills and experience through participation in varied work-study programs at the center and its art gallery. We’re also committed to developing meaningful programming for families, adults and young children. At the the heart of this multi-faceted center is its volunteers of all ages, from all walks of life and with so many varied interests and the affordability of programs so that all can participate.

To “Banish Misfortune” is a noble desire for all mankind. It is also the name of a jig in the Celtic Tradition.

The Monday Night Sessioneers will be playing jigs, reels, Aires and waltzes in hopes that the music might lift any cares or concerns to be banished and drift away.

Players include: Trevor Storm, Lindi Mereness, Fran Stein and possibly other Trad musicians who may drift through.

BIG NEWS!

An anonymous donor just dropped a 10k match for the Blue Sage! If we can match it as a community before July 1, that's 20k for the Blue Sage!

How the match works:
- You donate money of any amount before July 1 and it will be matched dollar for dollar up to 10k.
- Donating $60 or more makes you a member too. We are introducing perks for members this year, like dibs on seats at popular events and a deal on renting the space.
- If you are a member by the end of this week (June 6) you'll also be entered into a drawing to win a spot at the exclusive Fairy Fete.

So far, the community has contributed 32k to The Blue Sage in donations. We have a goal of $79k for the year, so if we make this match we'll probably get there!

It's our 30th Birthday!

- We provide space for more than 500 classes and workshops for all ages.
- We are the premier venue in downtown Paonia featuring local artists and musicians.
- We are the only venue that hosts a Classical Music series.

Join us this FINAL FRIDAY for an exhibition opening of 2D and 3D work from Johanna Mueller and Claire Wright in the Blue Sage Gallery!

Johanna Mueller creates printmaking, illustration, and graphic line work informed by the mythical history of animals and environmental consciousness. Claire Wright makes sustainably upholstered furniture, reimagining pieces with salvaged fabric and bold color choices.
