Great race yesterday at Rockford lake. Fun group.
Once we all get back together it will be trail runs at night, on new trails and trails with some of the best scenery in the state.

I was tossing and turning worrying about the course at Rockford Lake today but even after another inch of rain the course was good.
It was the first time there for most people on the new trails we put in last year v
Great turnout and great group of racers.
They had to run the North loop over the dam with 3 small creek crossings and small hills.
They each had to shoot the bow and arrow at a deer, bear and raccoon targets then run up and down around cones on a nice hill then try to throw tennis balls in a tub.
Then it was off to the South loop trails for 2 laps to finish.
For every time they hit the target with the bow they got 1 minute off. This evened out the competition for a lot of them. Good time, lots of laughs and awesome snacks from Colleen at Vintage Venue. And she raced.
Thanks to my volunteers and Parks crew that ran the archery shoot.
Was good to see new faces come to a park they never saw before. Thanks all. Pictures to come.
Results after bonus times so it makes their final time look good but everyone did well.

Course is marked and signs out.
Trails were ok after the rain. There is room on the sides most of the trails in the trees and the rest is on grass.
I wouldn't wear new shoes and if you do get dirty then jump in the lake. 😳🤪
Course goes clockwise on the North and South with obstacles in the middle.
Check in at 8:00.
Start at 8:30.
And late entries need exact amount and will get a shirt if someone doesn't show. Which it always happens.
Come down South 94th road off Hwy 136 for 2 miles then left on East Locust to Park entrance. North to the tent.
Travel safe.
