Mahnke Landscaping is looking for an experienced and responsible part time seasonal landscaper to join our team. Position may become full time in May if there is a large enough work load. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating lawn maintenance equipment such as zero turn lawn mowers, push and walk behind mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.
The candidate can expect to work outdoors in a mix of weather conditions over long periods of time and be able to work both as a team and independently. We generally work 6 days a week, so strong work ethic and open availability is a must. Chosen candidate will undergo up to a 2 week PAID trial period before hire to make sure they are a good fit for our company.
Landscaper Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate push or zero turn lawnmowers, trimmers, edgers, etc.
Pick up trash and other debris
Use leaf blower to clear walkways, parking lot, and pedestrian areas after lawn maintenance
Maintain existing landscaping
Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs
Rake fallen leaves and remove debris
Properly store and handle all equipment
Load and unload all necessary equipment to and from trailer.
Drive assigned truck and trailer, keeping it clean and tidy both inside and out.
And all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent educational experience preferred but not required
Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is a plus
Must pass background check and drug test. We are an alcohol and drug free workplace with zero tolerance.
Must be 18 years of age
Must have own reliable transportation and be on time
Able to work independently
Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment such as zero turn lawnmowers, push mowers/walk behind mower, weedeaters, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.
Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds for over 8 hours a day
