Airing of the Quilts was held in Palmer Alaska. Valley Quilters Guild presented their quilts around and inside the Palmer Train Depot.

The First Annual Airing of the Quilts, held yesterday, was a tremendous success! The wind picked up in the morning so we consolidated the show around and inside the Train Depot where we displayed a total of 54 quilts!

Susan and I want to send a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in and attended our new quilt show. We created the Airing of the Quilts because we love quilting and we want the art of quilting to continue to thrive in our community. Thank you to all for taking a chance on our idea and supporting it with your own hearts. What we all created together yesterday was just amazing and Susan and I are SO excited for next year!

This magical bookcase is filled with books, trinkets, and secret objects hidden amongst the thoughtfully-selected selvedge titles and the custom free-motion quilting. One can't help but play a little game of "I Spy" as they browse its shelves!

This quilt was recently displayed at the 2025 Alaska State Fair and the 2025 Great Alaskan Quilt Show and we are very excited to be able to share it with you on June 7th at the Airing of the Quilts!

What happens when a tech-lover takes up quilting?
Meet "The Infinite Canvas" created by Daniel Hughes.

This quilt is not only cozy but has the ability to shuttle you into space! We begin our journey at the drafting table, where we can see our well-caffeinated designer drafting the blueprint for a NASA space suit. Numerous sensors are integrated into the custom applique and when you tap the sensors with your tablet or phone you're redirected to various types of multimedia including audio recordings from the Moon landing and video files exploring the world of NASA and space travel! (And it glows in the dark!)

"The Infinite Canvas" was previously exhibited at the 2025 Alaska State Fair and we are thrilled that it will be on display again at this year's Airing of the Quilts in Downtown Palmer on Sunday June 7th, from 11am-2pm.
