The last blast of summer! The Alaska Fair is held each Fall in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.

Since 1936, Alaska State Fair features record-setting giant vegetables, beautiful flower gardens, concerts, plus Alaskan and Alaska Native culture. Located an hour north of Anchorage, the Fair provides the ideal setting for Alaska’s last blast of summer against a backdrop of the Chugach Mountains. The Fair also offers a rich cultural experience, featuring hundreds of Alaska Native performers and artists, as well as 475 vendors offering uniquely Alaskan crafts, Alaska Grown products, and memorable Fair food. We invite you to experience the Fair and also take advantage of the year-round events and services the Alaska State Fair offers including horse shows, facility rentals, concerts, trade shows, and winter RV & boat storage.

🌾 Happy National Farmer's Day! 🚜
Today celebrates farmers nationwide, and we'd like to highlight our 2026 Farm Family of the Year, Al Poindexter and his family of Anchor Point Greenhouse in Anchor Point, Alaska!

The Poindexter family was honored at the Alaska State Fair’s Board of Directors Reception in partnership with the Alaska Division of Agriculture and sponsored by Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union. The award recognizes their hard work, dedication and contributions to Alaska agriculture.

As part of the recognition, Matanuska Valley FCU donated $2,500 to the charity of Al’s choice, the Alaska FFA Association, helping support the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Congratulations again to the Poindexter family on this well-deserved honor! We’re proud to celebrate Alaska’s farming families today and all they do for our state. 🌱 Alaska Grown
