Almost 155 years ago, Theodore Roosevelt – the 26th President of the United States – was born to a wealthy family that summered in Oyster Bay not far from the waterfront

property that today bears his name. To honor his memory, community leaders organized a parade to celebrate his 125th birthday. The parade proved so successful that it provided the roots of what would become the Oyster Festival in 1983. Today the Oyster Festival is a much-awaited annual event that consistently attracts approximately 150,000+ visitors from along the East Coast. Its continued success is due to the dedication of members of the Oyster Bay Rotary who are committed to this event year-round and to the members of the Long Island business community that sponsor the event.

Oyster Fest may be our biggest celebration of the year—but it’s not the only time to experience the energy of Oyster Bay 🎉

From spring through the holidays, our town is filled with events that bring the community together and welcome visitors from near and far:

☀️ Oyster Bay Day 5/2 – a full day of family fun, local vendors, and live entertainment 11am-4pm

🚗 Cruise Nights Tuesdays 5/26-9/8 Season Finale on 9/19 – classic cars, music, and summer evenings in the heart of town 5:30-dark

🚴 Empire State Ride – supporting cancer research and wellness 10am-4pm

🦪 Oyster Fest – our signature waterfront festival you know and love 11am-6pm

🎄 Holiday Stroll, Market & Tree Lighting – a magical way to kick off the season 1pm-5pm

There’s always something happening here—and we’d love to see you at more than just one event.
