The Prairie Victorian

The Prairie Victorian Built in 1874, The Prairie Victorian is actively being restored. It spent its first 104 years as the Messner & Sons general store.

Follow along as restoration updates are posted and shared as we work toward opening as a public event venue in Oxford, IN.

The window display from the Seeds & Sunflowers dinner! Thanks again to Sharon and Dean for their generous use of the wagon, it has quickly become a staple in the window. 😁 It was the perfect flower display!
Sign is kraft paper and Cricut-cut letters backed with foam insulation (Ya use what you've got, right?) plus some paper Sunflowers. 🌻

Couldn't ask for a better person to rehab an old general store with. Even when the maintenence and restoration fairies go on strike, so we have a sleepover at the building. Almost. 😆 3:49AM and done for the "night". Back in a few hours for the final stretch!
But let's just say....we have a few projects checked off with pretty nice "wow" factor. Stay tuned to see what those are... 🌻 📷

Thank you SO much to the Current Topic Club for coming out to Oxford this afternoon for their monthly gathering! We were honored to be their featured topic this month. It was a joy to spend the afternoon with them!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everybody who stopped by on Sunday, whether to purchase plants or just check out the building improvements we have been working on! It was great to see so many familiar faces, and meet some new friends in town. Special thanks to , for not only making the drive up from Indy just to hang out with us, but capturing some sweet photos from the day. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Greg the Mayor, you know he is always there with camera in hand and stories to share.

We were joined at one point by Bob G, who is now an impressive 100 years old, and he brought a stack of photos of his Dan Patch memorabilia to show.

Back when we first bought the building, Bob was one of the people I made a point to sit down and talk with as I wanted to learn more about the community. Especially from the perspective of someone who has lived here for...a while. 😅 He is a wealth of knowledge, and always eager to talk about Dan Patch, and other Oxford history.

The work continues, and we have a few fun things happening here in Oxford in the coming weeks. Thank you for supporting this crazy project. Stay tuned for more!

From us to you - Merry Christmas! These photos are from a few weeks ago during Christmas on the Oxford Town Square.

We have so much to be grateful for this year and one of the biggest reasons is the love and support of the Oxford community and beyond. Thank you to each and every one of you who have cheered us on throughout this year and made this project so special. ❤️
Here's to more fun and adventures (and renovations) in 2026!
