It’s not hyperbole to say that Ron Shapiro laid the groundwork for a lot of the arts community here in Oxford. Somewhere in the midst of all his wit, his charm, and his ideas, he drew in like minded people who, like him, had a vision of an Oxford that embraced the weird. That celebrated the off kilter. That lauded the creative spark in people, even when they themselves wouldn’t acknowledge it. Oxford is better because of Ron Shapiro. And it’s always been a little less bright since his passing. Director brings the tale of “Ronzo” to life in this film as it pays homage to one of the most artistic, genuine humans to ever walk these streets.

Jon Brick is an award-winning filmmaker specializing in character-driven documentaries. With over 25 years of experience, his acclaimed films Class of COVID-19 and Uncommon Allies earned major festival recognition and worldwide distribution. He has collaborated with networks and brands including Yahoo!, People TV, NBC Universal, and Nickelodeon.
