This tournament began in 2008 by the families and friends of Bruce McKinney, Janelle Harney, DeMetria Sam, Lenville Smart, Brandon Prior, and Nathan Bacon. Since 2008, this establishment has grown! It has brought in many competitive teams from Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, California, Montana, Oklahoma and North Dakota. The tournament sponsors and hard working committee, and volunteers are the reasons that this tournament is a continuing success. Sponsors: Barrick Gold of North America has assisted with sponsorship since 2009, Mountain City Bar has also made contributions since 2012 and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes continuously offers support. Laura Hull-Teller, and Terri Ann Cota and families have also sponsored the MVP Pendleton ball bags since 2010. The tournament has assisted students fundraising to attend a Junior National Leaders of America Conference in Washington, DC., March of Dimes, along with various other educational/fundraising opportunities for local committees and individuals. In 2014, the tournament raised enough funds to host its first Annual Mother's Day Youth Basketball Tournament! If you are interested in sponsoring and/or assisting with our adult and youth tournaments, please let me know.
