About the Display:
The Lashbrook family Christmas light display has been an Owensboro, Ky staple for over 25 years. Starting with just a few reindeer and light strands, the display has grown steadily every year in which the current display has over 300,000 lights! The display has many different classic Christmas scenes including a hand built nativity scene, snowman scene, penguin playground, toyla
nd scene, train scene, and many others. Some of the most prominent features in the display are two massive Christmas trees including a 30ft spruce decorated with over 12,000 lights. The display also contains a 40ft tall oak tree containing over 100 lighted bells that dance to music. In 2014, the display was featured on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight national TV show. The Lashbrook display is the best Christmas display in the tri-state area. In 2018, we added a 20’ tall 3D snowman named Fred. He is made up of over 10,000 lights and has a giant top hat, scarf, and buttons. Additionally, the neighborhood holds a charity event every year near Christmas Eve. Christmas in Stonegate brings thousands of people to view the wonderful displays located throughout the Stonegate subdivision. There is a hot chocolate stand and Santa stops by to take pictures with the children and pass out candy canes. Donations are collected for two local charities every year, with over $75,000 raised since the event started in 2000. This years event dates are undecided at this time.
