East DC Elementary Racing Series

And just like that, another East DC Racing Series season is in the books!

We’ve received so many messages this year thanking us for putting these races on, but honestly, the thank you belongs to everyone who has played a part in making this series happen.

Believe it or not, these races have been going on since 1987-1988, when the series started with around 20–30 kids. If anyone deserves a huge thank you, it’s Mr. Tony Rowe. We’ve been privileged to lead these events over the last few years, but we’re simply carrying on something that has been a part of our running community for a long time. Thanking him and covering what he's meant to XC in our area is a whole different post so we'll just stick with this - Thank you Mr. Rowe!

This was probably our biggest year yet, and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who showed up and supported the series. To all of the runners, families, teams, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make these nights happen - Thank You!

We also appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to work through the wrinkles that come with putting on events of this size. We’ve already talked through several things we can improve, and we’re excited to take what we learned this year and make next year even better!

Our goal has always been to make these races fun, welcoming, and memorable while continuing to grow the sport of cross country in our community. We hope we’ve been able to do that. We realize the competition has grown along with the competitive spirits of each runner and team, but the foundation is and will alway be having fun!

If your runner enjoyed the series and wants to keep running, reach out to us! We’d be happy to help connect you with your local middle school and their cross country coaches. We have some GREAT coaches in our area who would love to have them out there!

What a way to finish the series! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We just wrapped up our fourth and final race, and I believe it may have been our biggest race yet! What an incredible turnout to close out the East DC Racing Series.

Thank you to every runner, family, coach, volunteer, and team who came out and supported the series over the past four weeks. We’ve loved seeing so many kids getting out there, racing, and having fun!

Our last race has arrived. Tomorrow is week 4 race! We can't wait to have everyone out one last time!

Below is some important information as you arrive:

📍 Location:
Yellow Creek Park

⏰ On-Site Registration & Bib Pickup: 4:30–5:15 PM

🏁 First Race Begins: Approximately 5:30 PM based on registration pace

Races will run on a rolling schedule. All race times after the first race are approximate and may begin earlier depending on the flow of the races.

💲 Cost:
The $5 bib fee is a one-time fee for new runners joining the series. If you already have your bib, there is no additional fee and you do not need to register again.

If you are a new runner or have misplaced your bib, you can register and receive a bib for $5.

ON-SITE REGISTRATION & BIB PICKUP:
4:30–5:15 PM

We will have 2 tables set up for anyone needing to register just like this past week.

Please enter all information CAREFULLY. Accurate information and bib numbers are essential for proper timing and race results.

🏁 WEEK 3 RACE DIVISIONS:

Race 1 – Girls K–2: 5:30 PM
Race 2 – Boys K–2: 5:45 PM
Race 3 – Girls 3–5: 6:00 PM
Race 4 – Boys 3–5: 6:15 PM

(All race times after the first race are approximate and may begin earlier based on race flow.)

Race Distance: Approximately 1100 meters / just shy of 0.75 miles

For this race, the top 10 finishers in each race will receive a MEDAL and a free Tshirt. Please stop by the purple tent and show you medal and pick up your shirt after your race.

Don't forget to get a picture at our photobooth by 270 Pose & Go. They are typically located in the shelther next to the gazebo.

Also, don't forget your favorite post run drink from Kona Ice of Owensboro, Madisonville, & Lincoln Trail. They will be located near the shelter as well.

We are almost there! Race Day #3 is Tomorrow!!

Below is some important information as you arrive:

⏰ On-Site Registration & Bib Pickup: 4:30–5:15 PM

Races will run on a rolling schedule. All race times after the first race are approximate and may begin earlier depending on the flow of the races.

If you have your bib from Weeks 1 & 2, feel free to arrive closer to your race time. However, we still recommend arriving about 20–30 minutes before your race to allow time for potential traffic, parking, and getting settled before your race.

If you are a new runner or have misplaced your bib, you can register and receive a bib for $5.

Anyone who pre-registered before Week 1 but was unable to attend will have their assigned bib ready for pickup at the normal picnic tables.

We will have 2 tables set up, with pre-registered bibs separated by last name. Please look for the signs at each table to find where to pick up your bib.

If you are a new runner, you may visit any registration table to register and receive your bib.

WHAT A NIGHT! 🔥 Week 2 of the East DC Racing Series is officially in the books!

Another great night of racing, and we loved seeing so many runners, families, coaches, and teams back out there! Thank you for continuing to make this series so much fun! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We are working through the results and did have a few bibs that were used in the wrong race.

As you look through the results, please let us know if you see any corrections. We had a couple of numbers come across the line that were registered to the wrong people for example. We will continue to update the results in milesplit as we get them. We also had a couple of numbers that weren't officially entered.

We are almost there! Race Day is coming up this Tuesday!! With a forecast of 75 degrees, everyone may need jackets compared to what is has been but we're excited to get everyone back out again!
