We were honored to take Big Sonia to the Braunschweig International Film Festival in Germany in 2018. To this day we still get gratitude from their audience for sharing her story. Such a beautiful soul that has changed so many lives.

January 27 is Holocaust Remembrance Day, as declared by United Nations resolution. This year, in its ongoing commitment to encourage collective action against antisemitism and other forms of bias, the UN notes, "2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the ending of the Second World War, and the ending of the Holocaust."
We do not know anyone who better reflects the UN's theme for this milestone year - '75 years after Auschwitz - Holocaust Education and Remembrance for Global Justice' - than the incredible team behind . This award-winning documentary (22 awards) by Leah Warshawski captures the extraordinary story, indomitable spirit, and one-of-a-kind personality of Sonia Warshawski, Leah's now 94-year-old grandmother, who remains one of the last Holocaust survivors who speaks publicly about her wartime experience. Through her talks and this film, Sonia continues to impact people across generations and cultures with her powerful message of love, hope, and resilience.
So much so, the "Big Sonia" filmmakers developed a companion, educational toolkit for teachers and schools to use around the globe. Their goal is to help educate middle school and high school students about the Holocaust, while inspiring them to be thoughtful citizens who lead with empathy and kindness. Head to the "Big Sonia" IG for toolkit details!
