Dubbed the "Cardiac Cavs", the team's remarkable season has drawn national attention from the NJCAA JUCO World Series, ESPN, and baseball fans across the country. After an initially discouraging start to her college journey, Lindsay Flores decided to take a chance on herself and apply to JCCC.

Today, she’s graduating with both a Paralegal Certificate and an Associate of Liberal Arts degree — all while balancing work and raising a family.

“My journey has not been easy, but after years of being told I wouldn’t be able to continue my education, here I am getting it done,” said Lindsay. “JCCC has helped me realize there are no limits to what I can achieve.”

Lights, camera, action! Earlier this spring, JCCC hosted the 2nd Annual Japanese Shorts Festival, an event designed to help students explore the Japanese language through creativity, storytelling, and fun.

This year, 39 students from JCCC and surrounding colleges and universities submitted 14 original Japanese-language short films for judging. Eight teams were recognized with awards honoring everything from technical excellence and acting to originality in both anime and live action. Read more about the event:

In Spring 2026, JCCC hosted the Second Annual Japanese Shorts Festival, an event for Japanese language students to creatively share their love of the language.
