New at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens! 🖼️ 🌺 We’re proud to unveil “Growing Kindness,” a stunning new poppy painting now on display in the LongHouse Visitor Center.
Inspired by the late artist and philanthropist Jeffrey Hanson (1993–2020), the painting was created and signed by Jeff Hanson Art. It was painted by his parents, Julie and Dr. Hal Hanson, in their son’s distinctive, heavily textured style as a tribute to his life, vision and mission to change the world through art.
Julie and Dr. Hal Hanson and the Jeff Hanson Art Studio gifted the painting to the City of Overland Park. It will be paired with the upcoming 20-foot “Growing Kindness” poppy sculpture, which will be erected in the Arboretum gardens in the near future.
You have to see this beautiful piece in person! Come be inspired by Jeffrey’s story and this beautiful expression of love, nature and color. Entry into the LongHouse Visitor Center where the painting is located is free. Admission is only required if you enter the gardens.
