WARNING: As many of you have noticed, we are sold out. Be very wary of anyone offering to transfer a bib. DO NOT send anyone money for a bib unless you have cleared it with us. We have had at least one runner scammed already, and I noticed a comment from another person this morning offering a bib, and she is not currently registered for our race. We are the only ones who can arrange a transfer.

Okay, group, this is my official call for volunteers to assist with the Lagerhead Marathon & Half on November 23rd in Ottawa, KS. If you are willing and available to assist for some or all of the day (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM), we'd love to have you! I ask that you email me at [email protected] with the particulars (what time you can be there, any preferences on assignments, etc.). If you would like a race shirt, I can order you one, so include that info as well. I can't afford to give them away (we have a charity benefitting from race proceeds), but I will sell them to you for $5 each (this is below cost). Include your unisex size if you want a shirt.

The art for the medals has been approved, and they have been ordered. We're going to wait to reveal them until we have them in hand. Hopefully you like them as much as I think you will. The theme remains the same, but they are a very different style than the shirts. Think "Greenback." 😁

Shirt Reveal! Our theme this year is "Keeping it Green" in memory of our dear friend Scott Green. The medal will also have an Easter egg honoring him. We will release that as soon as we have it. These references were kept intentionally subtle. Sort of an IYKYK kind of thing. The uninitiated could very think this is a throwback to the Ruby Rod character in The Fifth Element. In his vernacular, "green" meant good, or something like that. That's fine too. Scott was certainly good and then some. We love you and miss you my friend!

The holidays have been so busy I forgot to post this last week! We presented a check in the amount of $6000 to Major Ross Capps of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. We are once again sponsoring Deputy Jony Paez during this year's Police Unity Tour, and when the riders arrive at the Memorial in Washington DC, the money will be presented to representatives from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Thank you all so much for running with us and thank you for helping ensure those who are killed in the service of their communities are never forgotten!

And just like that, we are SOLD OUT! We sent an email to all registered runners with race day details. Among the things listed in that email was advance packet pickup at the Running Well Store in Martin City between 2:00 and 6:00 on Friday. If you can't come see us then, we will see you on race morning, starting around 7:00. We still have room for a couple of volunteers, if anyone is interested.
