The Port City Ultra for Blessings in a Backpack

Good morning all,

It is with great sadness that we have cancelled this year’s event. After facing constant issues with our main business since the end of July, we just don’t have the budget or the time resources available to give our competitors the top notch event we have held the last two years. I’m sorry it’s so late in the season, but up until last week we were still working to make it happen. A second broken dough mixer in 3 months used up all of our personal resources and have left us scrambling to take care of our team and vendors. We hope to bring this race back in 2024 as it was the perfect holiday end-cap to most people’s racing season. If you preregistered, refund should hit your account by Monday.

🗣️what’s up everyone!! First off let us thank you again for joining us in 2022, it was truly an amazing event!

🚨Now onto some announcements:

🗓️2023 Event will be Saturday December 16, 2023!

☑️Registration will open soon, plus keep your eyes open for our NEW Logo and event name! We wanted to give the event a special feel and it’s own identity so we will have that announcement in the next few days! All I can say is it is going to be awesome!!

The dust has settled and I’ve had time to sit down and completely calculate what we pledged for our event to Blessings in a Backpack Oswego Chapter

Our Ultra Runners completed 350 Miles MORE than last year!

🏃🏻🏃🏻🏃🏻🏃🏻🏃🏻The breakdown:
Total Miles Run (Both Races) 1426 $1 per mile
Marathon Finishers: 9 ($25 each)
50k Finishers: 18 ($50 each)
50M Finishers: 3 ($100 each)
100k Finishers: 2 ($125)
We also collected $405 in personal donations to our cause.

♥️That makes the grand total for race day $3506♥️

This is all possible because of YOU, your drive, determination and commitment to run 12 hours. For every $150 raised we can feed one child, every weekend for the entire school year. Meaning we will help 23 families for the entire school Year!
