Tournament Rules/Format:
This is a head-to-head bass fishing tournament with a total duration of 4 hours. Each angler gets 2 hours in the front of the boat to choose their fishing locations.
Lake Selection:
One angler will be randomly selected to choose the lake for the tournament. This decision must be made at least 24 hours before the competition and must be located within a 60 mile radius from the selected home location.
Bait & Lure Rules:
The angler who selects the lake will also choose up to 3 lure/bait options to use during the tournament. Both anglers must use only these 3 chosen baits during the competition.
No additional bait or lure changes are allowed outside of the predetermined 3 choices. You may change size and color of the lures chosen.
Fishing Time:
The tournament is divided into two halves of 2 hours each.
For the first half, one angler controls the boat and decides the fishing locations. The roles are switched for the second half.
The angler in control of the boat has full authority over where to fish within the lake during their 2-hour period.
Scoring:
This is a catch-and-release competition. Only bass will count toward scoring. Each angler is responsible for weighing their fish using an agreed scale and will be verified by the other angler.
The angler with the largest total catch (by weight or length, as predetermined) at the end of 4 hours is declared the winner. Only bass of 1lbs or bigger will count towards the weight ( unless changed for specific lakes ).
Tie Breaker:
In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the largest single bass caught. If a tie persists, the anglers will enter a sudden death period where the next bass caught wins.
Ethics & Sportsmanship:
Anglers must follow all local fishing regulations, including catch limits. Unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating, or failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification.
Weather Conditions:
In the case of extreme weather or unsafe conditions, the tournament may be paused or rescheduled at the discretion of both anglers.
Camera/Video:
During the 4 hour competition period each angler will be mic'd up and recorded for the youtube channel. Some contest may also be live streaming.
Mystery Bonus Round Rules & Activation:
The Mystery Bonus Round will only be triggered after the main tournament if both anglers agree, or in the event of a tie at the end of the regular competition.
The Bonus Round will last for an additional 30 minutes, and both anglers will compete simultaneously.
Mystery Challenge Bait/Lures:
For this round, each angler will draw a random lure or bait from a pre-selected mystery box. This could involve a coin flip, dice roll, or any mutually agreed method.
No substitutions or personal lure's/bait's are allowed—only the drawn lure can be used.
The list of possible lures can include unconventional or rarely used baits to add to the challenge (e.g., topwater frog, jerkbait, spinnerbait, old vintage lures, weird Japanese baits, etc ).
Mystery Challenge Scoring:
The angler who catches the biggest bass (by weight or length) during the 30-minute round will win the Mystery Bonus Round and receive bonus weight toward their final score.
If no fish are caught during the Mystery Bonus Round, the angler with the most weight caught during the main tournament is declared the winner.
Mystery Challenge Tie Breaker:
If both anglers catch bass of the same size in the Mystery Bonus Round, the total number of fish caught during the bonus round will determine the winner.
If still tied, a sudden-death cast will occur, where the next bass caught wins.
Mystery Challenge (Optional):
To add an extra layer of challenge, both anglers must perform a mystery task before starting the round, which will be selected at the beginning of the mystery round by flip of the coin.... such as rigging their bait in under a minute or casting with their non-dominant hand, etc.
