UrbanFest 360° continues its commitment to creating opportunities for emerging talent with “Blind Sides” Live Auditions, taking place Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST in Orlando, Florida.

Unlike a traditional panel discussion, this UrbanFest 360° experience puts talent into action. “Blind Sides” Live Auditions will provide actors and performers with an opportunity to step forward, demonstrate their abilities, and participate in a live audition environment designed to showcase talent and provide valuable industry exposure.

Leading the experience will be Kevin Marable, founder of TheBlkscript & Blind Sides, alongside Jessica Mifflin, PR assistant and talent representative. Their involvement brings together perspectives from both the creative and talent representation sides of the entertainment business, creating an experience that goes beyond simply talking about what it takes to audition.

For aspiring actors, one of the biggest challenges is gaining access to opportunities where their talent can actually be seen. UrbanFest 360° is helping create that access by providing a platform where performers can put their preparation, confidence and creativity to the test in front of entertainment professionals.

The live audition experience also emphasizes an important part of building a career in entertainment: being prepared when an opportunity arrives. From understanding audition material and making strong performance choices to presenting yourself professionally, “Blind Sides” gives participants a chance to experience the pressure, excitement and possibilities that come with stepping into an audition.

The event is part of UrbanFest 360°’s broader programming in Orlando, bringing together entertainment professionals, filmmakers, actors, entrepreneurs and creatives for a day centered around education, access, networking and opportunity.

For performers looking for more than another conversation about breaking into the entertainment industry, “Blind Sides” Live Auditions offers an opportunity to step up and be seen.

Models, designers, stylists, makeup artists, hair artists and creatives are invited to showcase their talent ahead of the UrbanFest 360° Fashion Experience

ORLANDO, FL — September 2026 — The runway is calling! UrbanFest 360°, in collaboration with Culture Trees, will host a Fashion Show Casting Call on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Holiday Inn, 7276 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819.

The casting call will search for talent to become part of the UrbanFest 360° Fashion Experience, welcoming models of all styles and backgrounds while also creating opportunities for designers, stylists, makeup artists, hair artists and other fashion creatives to connect and showcase what they bring to the industry.

UrbanFest 360° is built around film, fashion, entertainment and culture, and the casting call expands that mission by giving emerging and established talent an opportunity to step forward, be seen and connect with a creative community during one of Orlando’s most exciting entertainment weekends.

Presented alongside Culture Trees, an organization centered around talent, opportunity, networking and community, the casting call is about bringing different areas of the fashion industry together. From the models walking the runway to the professionals creating the looks behind the scenes, UrbanFest 360° is looking for individuals ready to contribute their talent and creativity to the experience.

Participants are encouraged to come prepared, bring their best and be ready to make an impression. For models, that means bringing confidence, personality and runway presence. For fashion professionals and creatives, it is an opportunity to network, connect and potentially become part of the production surrounding the UrbanFest 360° Fashion Show.

The casting call also serves as the beginning of an action-packed UrbanFest 360° weekend in Orlando, taking place September 18–20, 2026, featuring film, fashion, entertainment, industry discussions, special guests, networking and cultural experiences.

The amount of love shown for Oliver “Professor GT” Batson during his funeral service was incredible. 🕊️❤️ One person after another stepped forward to share memories, stories, and heartfelt tributes, and hearing just how many lives he touched was overwhelming. The turnout and the words spoken made one thing very clear—Professor GT was deeply loved, respected, and appreciated by Orlando and the Caribbean community.

For decades, Professor GT helped shape the sound and culture of Central Florida’s Caribbean music scene. As a co-founder of Natural Mystic Soundsation (NMS), he helped create a name that became synonymous with reggae, dancehall, soca, chutney, hip-hop, and Caribbean entertainment. From sound-system culture to countless parties, community events, and celebrations, Professor GT wasn’t just behind the music—he was part of the movement that helped Caribbean culture grow and thrive in Orlando. 🎶🇬🇾🌴

Watching so many people come forward to honor him was a true testament to the legacy he leaves behind. You can measure a man’s impact by the people whose lives are different because he was here—and today, Orlando showed just how big Professor GT’s impact truly was.

Rest peacefully, Professor GT. 🙏🏽🕊️ Your voice may be silent and your set may be finished, but the music you helped create, the culture you represented, and the memories you gave this city will continue playing for generations. 🎧❤️

Today’s funeral service for Oliver “Professor GT” Batson was truly beautiful, powerful, and overwhelming in the best way. To see so many people take the time to stand up, speak his name, share their memories, tell their stories, and give heartfelt tributes showed just how much love and respect Orlando and the Caribbean community had for Professor GT. You could feel the impact he made through every person who spoke. This wasn’t simply saying goodbye to a DJ—it was celebrating a man who became part of the soundtrack and history of our community. ❤️🙏🏽

Professor GT’s contribution to the music scene goes back decades. Born in Guyana, raised in Brooklyn, and eventually making Orlando home, he helped co-found Natural Mystic Soundsation (NMS) with his brothers after moving to Orlando in the 1990s. NMS became a recognized force in Central Florida’s Caribbean music scene, known for bringing together crowds through reggae, dancehall, soca, chutney, hip-hop and Caribbean music from across the islands. More than 20 years ago, Orlando Weekly was already documenting Professor GT and NMS as an important part of Orlando’s sound-system culture, and his influence continued through countless events, radio appearances and generations of people who knew his name.

Today proved that Professor GT didn’t just play music—he helped build a musical community. Natural Mystic Soundsation continues today, carrying forward a legacy that he helped create, while his official remembrance recognizes that his legacy of music will continue through his family, NMS and the many lives he touched. Seeing the amount of people who came forward to honor him was a reminder that success isn’t only measured by awards or accomplishments—it is also measured by the lives you touched and the people who show up when your journey is complete.

Rest in peace, Professor GT. 🕊️🎶
Orlando showed you today just how much you were loved, respected and appreciated. The DJ may have left the booth, but the music, memories and legacy will continue to play. 🙏🏽❤️🎧
