🎃 Glenn County Fair's Spook Train, Orland Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis and Orland High School Key Club have joined forces! – Rain or Shine! ☔️

If it rains, vehicles will move inside Whitsett Cook Building. The train is unable to run, but guests can enjoy all the fun indoors!

🎃 We are excited to be part of a fun and memorable Halloween night for our community!

There is so much happening on Saturday, October 31st.
Treat Street in Downtown Orland, the Children’s Costume Contest, the Halloween Parade, and then more fun waiting at the Glenn County Fairgrounds with the Spook Train and FREE Trunk or Treat! 👻🚂🍬

The parade begins at 6:00 PM at the Orland Post Office and will make its way to the Fairgrounds, where the fun continues!

🚗 Want to be part of the fun? We’re looking for more Trunk or Treat participants! Businesses, organizations, clubs, groups, and families are welcome to decorate a trunk and help us create a great experience for our community.

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the spotlight, representing your community, making new friends, building confidence, and creating memories you’ll never forget — this could be your opportunity.

We are looking for:
Miss Glenn County Contestants
Princesses ages 5–7 on or before January 1st
Miss Glenn County ages 16-20 on or before May 1st

And there’s even more to look forward to: the Miss Glenn County winner, 1st Alternate, and 2nd Alternate will each receive a scholarship.

This is about so much more than a title. It’s an opportunity to grow, get involved in your community, and discover what you’re capable of.

Applications for both Princesses and Miss Glenn County are due November 20, 2026.

Great News!!

Local fairgrounds are major economic drivers throughout the state, but especially in rural communities. The rides are fun and the junior livestock events are a rite of passage for many youths, but the fairgrounds are more than that. They provide critical local bases for emergency response and they are cultural hotspots and meeting grounds. Fairs are critical local infrastructure.

This week the Senate unanimously passed AB 1711, by Assemblymember Damon Connolly. This bill will eliminate hurdles to fairgrounds receiving their share of tax revenues in a timely manner, improving their business stability. This bill next heads to the governor, who I hope will do the right thing and sign it into law.

This event is such a wonderful opportunity to recognize and showcase the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our youth. It’s also a great opportunity for our exhibitors, families, and community to learn more about what happens to their animals after they are sold and the important educational process that follows.

Winds Advisory 💨
The Butler Carnival will remain open! However management will monitor the weather and temporarily pause operation of our taller rides based on wind speeds.

The good news? Starting at 2pm the wind should begin to decrease and by 8pm it should be perfect for our final hours of carnival fun.
