Friday May 31 from 7-9pm, Richard Chase will perform at Butterfield
Park, 83 East River St. in Orange MA to close out Friendly Town Live,
the free all-ages concert series. If rain is in the forecast, the
concert will be at the Unitarian Church, 31 North Main St. Orange.
Richard Chase has earned the respect of audiences throughout the
Northeast and well beyond with his superbly crafted songs and tasteful
musicianship. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Chase has appeared on
many stages from coast to coast in a variety of genres that include
symphonic, orchestral, jazz, pop, original, rock, choral, contra,
theatre, and solo work.
Critic Kelly Zenble says: "Rich always gives a variety filled, fun
and diverse concert! His songs are fresh and honest and reveal an
introspective mind unafraid to probe feelings each of us can identify
with: songs about fear or hope, an homage to a friend who died too
early in a freak accident, and of course songs of love. He'll leave
you totally satisfied, but wanting much more of him, all at the same
time! He's just got that special, mystical musical thing about him
that you can never get enough of!"
The legendary Fran Doughty says: "At a Richard Chase concert you get
a musician who is 100% involved: earnestly delivering his songs with
passion, serving the audience, and making that special connection with
the listener." Karen Traub of the Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse
says: "Rich's voice is like a favorite sweatshirt, smooth, pleasing
and versatile. [He's] obviously having fun which adds to the
enjoyment for everyone." Auyon Mukharji from Darlingside raves:
"Richard Chase's guitar work is masterful. Rhythmic and intricate, it
lays a splendid foundation for his grit-flecked, stirring vocals.
Chase is a craftsman's songwriter, he makes sharing the stage an
absolute pleasure.”
Refreshments including hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks and more will be
on sale at the event. There will be free candy at the concert thanks
to West Brook Christmas Tree Farm. This program is supported in part
by a grant from The Orange Cultural Council, a local agency which is
supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The
producers of the series wish to thank the people from 97.3FM WJDF
without whom the concert series would not exist. Friendly Town Live
